A beautiful message came in for the boys today from another parent, and it truly touched our hearts. Hearing that the fidgets and sensory toys the boys create are helping other children means more than words can explain. β€οΈ
We also wanted to let everyone know that yes, we do sell and ship our products! Right now, orders can be placed through our Facebook business page, Built By The Bay by Dylan & Damien. Eventually, the boys hope to have everything available on Etsy as they continue to grow their little business.
We also wanted to share a little more about why this all started.
Our oldest son was diagnosed with autism after years of struggles and long waits for support. By the time he was finally seen, many of the childhood supports were no longer available because he was older. Our youngest son has also faced many struggles in his own way and has now been waiting almost 4 years for assessments and diagnosis.
This business became more than just 3D printing. It became an outlet, a safe place, creativity, confidence, learning, and growth. We noticed how much fidgets, sensory items, cubes, and hands-on creations helped with focus, emotions, anxiety, and even social skills.
What surprised us most was seeing how much joy these fidgets also brought to the adults in our home. It really made us realize that sometimes people of all ages just need healthy ways to keep their hands and minds busy. In a world where stress and unhealthy habits can take over so easily, something as simple as a fidget can become a calming outlet, a distraction, a comfort, or a way to self-regulate emotions. We truly believe many adults could benefit from them just as much as children do.
Dylan loves creating fidgets and sensory items, while Damien enjoys designing useful household products. Together, they are also working on a Newfoundland-inspired line filled with traditional Newfoundland items and ideas they are so excited to share with everyone.
Thank you to every single person supporting these boys, encouraging them, sharing their work, and believing in them. Supporting children, especially children who struggle differently, can truly change lives. β€οΈ
