✨Just a friendly reminder! ✨

Join us this Saturday, October 17, for our next Featured Artist Demonstration with local artist Leila Armstrong! 🍃

Watch Leila bring her creative process to life as she experiments with gel printing, image transfers, stencils, layers, and textures to create one-of-a-kind prints. You never quite know what’s going to happen when you start pulling a print - and that’s half the fun! 🎨

No two demonstrations are ever quite the same, because every artist brings their own unique approach, ideas, and creativity!

And one more friendly reminder: this event is FREE to attend, and everyone is welcome! Drop in, say hello, watch some art come to life, and leave feeling inspired.

We can’t wait to see you there! 💛

We can’t believe this little gem hasn’t been scooped up yet! 🐇🍃

Today, we’re shining a spotlight on this incredible cup by Featured Artist Leila Armstrong! We absolutely LOVE the sense of humour that comes through in Leila’s work - you may remember her wonderfully wild skunk hat that had us all talking. 🦨

If you’ve been eyeing this one, consider this your sign! 😏

And speaking of Leila… her gel printing demo is coming up Saturday, October 17 from 1–3 PM, and we cannot WAIT! Come join us, get creative, and see what Leila has up her sleeve. 🎨✨

We’ll see you there!

Today, AAC Works acknowledges the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation by recognizing that we are located on Treaty 7 territory, the traditional territory of the Blackfoot People, and home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3.

We honour the Blackfoot people and their traditional ways of knowing and caring for this land, as well as the Indigenous and Métis people who have helped shape -and continue to strengthen - our community.

Although AAC Works is closed today, we are committed to supporting and representing Indigenous artists throughout the year. We invite you to take time today to learn, reflect, and consider the ways we can each contribute to the ongoing work of truth and reconciliation.

Come join us for this collaborative community event as we come together through art, reflection, and connection.

Whether you’re joining us on Rotary Square or taking time to reflect in your own way, we encourage everyone to learn about and reflect on the 94 Calls to Action for Truth and Reconciliation.

🎬 We had to create a cinematic masterpiece to properly emphasize just how much we LOVE this bucket hat. 🦨

Featured Artist Leila Armstrong has some incredible pieces in the shop right now, and one of our personal favourites is this wonderfully stinky little hat. 🧢

But there’s a catch… 👀

There are ONLY TWO hats available as part of this collection - and Emma has already claimed one. 😏

So if you’ve been thinking about it, this is your sign! Stop by AAC Works soon and claim yours before they’re gone! 🏃‍♀️💨

✨New Artist Spotlight: Lawrence Kopp ✨

We’re so excited to welcome Lawrence Kopp to AAC Works!

Lawrence Kopp is a Lethbridge-based woodworker creating functional, artisanal cutting and charcuterie boards, along with a variety of other handcrafted goods. Working with a range of wood species, each piece celebrates the wood’s natural grain, contrast, character, and unique imperfections.

And the smaller pieces don’t go to waste! Pieces left over from larger projects are carefully transformed into beautiful pieces like wooden earrings and coasters. Every item is shaped, sanded, and finished by hand, allowing the natural beauty and character of the wood to shine through.

After years of creating utilitarian pieces like cabinets and tables, retirement has given Lawrence the opportunity to approach woodworking from a more creative perspective. He loves combining different species of wood and embracing the natural “imperfections” that make each piece completely one-of-a-kind. 🪵

We currently have an incredible collection of Lawrence’s work in the shop, including wooden utensils, earrings, coasters, bookmarks, and gorgeous charcuterie boards. 🥄🌳

Be sure to stop by AAC Works and check them out for yourself - these beautiful pieces certainly won’t last long! 👀

🎨 Let’s get messy!

Ever wondered how artists create those wonderfully layered, textured prints using a gel plate? Come see it happen!

Join us at AAC Works for a special Artist Demonstration with our Featured Artist, Leila Armstrong! ✨

Watch Leila bring her creative process to life as she experiments with gel printing, image transfers, stencils, layers, and textures to create one-of-a-kind prints. You never quite know what’s going to happen when you start pulling a print - and that’s half the fun! 👀🎨

It’s a chance to:
✨ Watch an artist work some magic
✨ Get a behind-the-scenes look at her creative process
✨ Ask questions and learn about gel printing
✨ Discover a little more about the urban wildlife that inspires Leila’s work
✨ Get inspired to try something new yourself!

📅 Saturday, October 17
🕐 1:00–3:00 PM
📍 AAC Works — 318 7 St S

What are Artist Demonstrations? 🤔

Unlike our workshops, Artist Demonstrations are relaxed, drop-in sessions where you can watch artists create, ask questions about their practice, and connect with Lethbridge’s creative community.

Every demonstration is different—because every artist is different! 🎨

✨ FREE to attend and everyone is welcome! Drop in, say hello, see some art in the making, and get inspired. We’ll see you there!
