About to cast on my 4th project of the summer (and approx. 9th project since the last time I posted 😅). Loving how deep and vibrant this colour turned out and I just had to capture it. 🤩🤩🤩

Another set of minis done and ready to go! These ones make me think of a rustic cabin with a roaring fire and a cozy plaid sweater.

“Cabin in the Woods” is available on worsted weight, 100% superwash merino wool. There are 3 up in my Etsy shop now.

This year’s gift to my students: crocheted cactuses! Another school year in the books - I had such an amazing group this year, I’m ready for summer but sad to say goodbye.

Made these little scrappy socks for my son this week. I used some of my first batch of yarn that I dyed a few years ago. He helped me dye the variegated parts so it seemed fitting that he get the finished product. He’s calling them his “Smurf Hulk” sock and his “Iron-Man” sock.

It only took 447 days but I’ve finally finished my first pair of socks with my first skein of hand dyed yarn! Turns out I’m a fan of DPNs much more than magic loop. The first pair + a cuff took me over a year… Once I made the switch to DPNs I finished the second sock in less than a week.

What a crazy year it has been! I am so thankful for the support of all my friends and family who have followed along on my dyeing journey, and all the customers near and far who took a chance and purchased my yarn. I’ve had the privilege of personally delivering some of my orders to local customers and shipped yarn as far as New York.

These were the last skeins I dyed in 2021, and they are now up in my Etsy shop. This is the Frost and Starlight colourway I developed a few weeks ago, with two coordinating 10g mini skeins to make a sock set. Enjoy!

It’s crazy what a difference one single step can make in the yarn dying process. The left skein is my second try at Mercury… the right skein is the same recipe dipped in a tiny amount of navy blue at the end. I’m this close 🤏 to being satisfied with the colourway. One more trial run should do it (I hope!) I have 3 DK and 1 bulky available in my Etsy shop right now. Swipe to see the inspiration photo.

I used my leftover dye from the previous colour wheel minis and ended up with this beauty. One of a kind, fi*****ng weight, up in my shop now.

I might try to recreate this someday, it makes me think of frost and starlight… of a quiet evening walk when the snow dampens all the sound outside. What does it remind you of?

My mini skeins that I use to test out colour recipes have been piling up! I’m working on a sweater for my littlest so I can put them to good use. Absolutely loving this colour palette, which is made from different ratios of only 3 dyes. Can’t wait for my next order of dyes to come in so I can start mixing again.
