We gave this generously sized armchair a complete new look in V269 Merlot from Charlotte Fabrics’ UltraHyde III collection. Its deep w**e colour and softly distressed leather appearance complement the chair’s classic curves beautifully, while antique-brass nailhead trim gives every edge a crisp, tailored finish.

This isn’t just a good-looking material—it’s a stain-resistant polyurethane upholstery vinyl rated for more than 2,000,000 Wyzenbeek double rubs. It’s suitable for demanding residential and commercial use and cleans with mild soap and water. A practical choice for a chair that’s meant to be enjoyed, not merely admired.

This vintage chair came to us ready for much more than new fabric. We gave it a complete overhaul, replacing everything inside and out before upholstering its deep button tufted back, rolled arms, and seat. We also refinished and polished the original metal-tipped legs to bring back their shine.

For the upholstery, we used V939 Olive from Charlotte Fabrics’ UltraHyde Pro II collection. It has the rich look of leather in a beautiful, understated olive green, along with a soft microsuede backing and an ink- and stain-resistant finish. Rated for more than two million double rubs, it’s an exceptionally durable choice designed to keep looking great through years of use.

The decorative nails add the perfect finishing detail while preserving the chair’s vintage character. It may still have the same frame, but nearly everything else has been given a fresh start.

A fresh new look—and a fabric made for real life. 🍂

We recently reupholstered this wooden armchair in F400-158 from Charlotte Fabrics. Its warm terracotta leaf pattern gives the chair a welcoming, updated look while complementing the richness of the dark wood beautifully.

Good upholstery fabric needs to offer more than looks. This American-made performance fabric exceeds 60,000 double rubs, making it suitable for heavy-duty use. It’s also pet-friendly, fade-resistant, PFAS-free, and naturally stain-resistant without an added topical treatment. Most stains can be cleaned with mild soap and water, and the fabric is even bleach-cleanable when necessary.

Beautiful, practical, and ready for many more years of use.

A few months ago, we reupholstered this classic truck bench seat, and yesterday, the owner stopped by to show us the finished product now that everything is back together.

The rich green upholstery fits the character of this truck perfectly, while the vertical pleating and clean stitched details give the bench a fresh, finished look without losing that classic feel.

We always appreciate it when customers come back to show us the final result. This one was especially satisfying to see back where it belongs.

This wingback chair had clearly been reupholstered before—but unfortunately, not with the care or craftsmanship it deserved. Bringing it back to life properly, with the right techniques and attention to detail, was an absolute pleasure.

The transformation was completed in D4410 Eve Oyster from Charlotte Fabrics. Part of the Vintage Damask collection, this traditional floral pattern has a refined sheen and a warm palette of oyster, cream and taupe. It is also a practical upholstery choice: 100% polyester, fade resistant and rated for heavy-duty use at more than 70,000 Wyzenbeek double rubs.

It was genuinely hard to let this one leave the shop. This is exactly the kind of chair I would bring home myself if I had the room—it deserved to be seen and enjoyed again.

Apparently, we weren’t the only ones who fell for it. Another customer had spent months considering fabrics for their own project. Then they walked into the shop, saw Eve Oyster on this chair and decided immediately: this was the one.

Some fabrics are beautiful in a sample book. Others need to be seen on the right piece before everything clicks.

A mid-century classic with a little history hidden inside.

This Eames-style lounge chair and ottoman came to us with badly deteriorated black vinyl, but the molded wood shells and iconic shape were still well worth restoring. We reupholstered the set in olive green vinyl, finished with matching buttons and piping.

During disassembly, we discovered something interesting: pieces of Chinese newspaper still adhered to the back of the curved wood inserts. The paper was likely used as a release layer during manufacturing, preventing the wood and adhesive from sticking to the press or forming mould while the laminated pieces were bent into shape.

Before and after: a mid-century chair with great bones brought back to life.

This high-back lounge chair features a mid-century modern design with strong Scandinavian influence. Its most distinctive features are the slender tapered legs, gently rolled back, and sculpted wooden armrests that flow into the front legs. The exposed frame gives the upholstered body an almost floating appearance—light and elegant, despite the chair’s generous proportions.

When it arrived, the upholstery was badly worn and one of those beautiful wooden arms had broken away from the frame. We repaired the chair and reupholstered it in Charlotte Fabrics' CB800-329, a warm, tailored plaid from the Shades of Adobe collection.

CB800-329 blends polyester, cotton, rayon and acrylic and exceeds 40,000 Wyzenbeek rubs, giving it heavy-duty durability without sacrificing the soft, woven character that suits a vintage chair so well. Its compact 2½-inch repeat adds visual interest while allowing the chair’s graceful shape and woodwork to remain the focus.

A few months ago, we shared these freshly reupholstered bench seats, but now we finally get to show them where they belong.

The two-tone green upholstery fits this classic interior beautifully, with channel stitching, matching buttons, and a colour combination that complements the car from front to back. Seeing a finished set installed is always the best part.

We gave this chair a complete transformation from the inside out.

This project involved a full rebuild, including replacing all the internal components and installing all new foam to restore its comfort, support, and structure. We then upholstered it in top-grain leather, added decorative nailhead trim, and refinished the wood in a rich espresso color.

The result is a beautifully restored chair with timeless character, renewed comfort, and many more years of life ahead.

Not every chair is worth reupholstering — but some absolutely are.

This style of chair can often cost less to replace than to recover, especially when the frame is lightweight or lower quality. But when you have a well-built set with a strong, solid frame like these, reupholstery can be a great way to extend their life and make them look fresh again.

We gave this set a clean new look with updated fabric while keeping the original frames that were still in excellent shape.

Good furniture is worth saving.
