New build project in Windsor, Ontario: Aluprof triple glazed aluminum stackable lift and slide windows and patio door, supplied and installed by RCOR Windows and Doors.
The homeowners wanted wide openings to the backyard, plenty of natural light, and strong energy efficiency. Here's what we installed and why it works:
Stackable sliding system: A standard slider has one fixed panel, so you only get half the opening. In a stackable system, two sashes slide and stack behind each other, giving you a much wider opening.
Patio door: The stacked panels open up a wide walkway from the house straight out to the backyard.
Windows: The same stackable design on the windows gives you more airflow when they're open.
Lift and slide operation: Turning the handle lifts the panel off its seals so it glides open easily, even at this size. Turning it back lowers the panel into the seals and locks it tight.
Slim aluminum frames: Aluminum is strong enough to support large panels with a thin frame, so you get more glass, more light, and a clearer view of the yard.
Triple glazing: Three panes of glass keep the home efficient, so you don't give up performance to get the bigger glass.
Manufacturer and installation: These windows and doors are made by Aluprof, a European manufacturer of aluminum window and door systems. We order directly from the factory, and our own certified in-house installers handle every installation, so the same team is responsible for the project from order to finished install.
