Our August Small Stuff artist is Brian Tebay…

“My journey in glassmaking began as a teenager in Waterford, Ireland, where I was introduced to the art of glass through my training at Waterford Crystal. As an apprentice, I learned the traditions, discipline, and techniques of this remarkable craft, gradually mastering the skills passed down through generations of glassmakers.

My passion and expertise in glass later brought me to Halifax, Nova Scotia, where I continued to refine my craft with Nova Scotian Crystal.

Today, I am based in the coastal community of Blue Rocks on Nova Scotia’s South Shore, where I have opened my own glass studio. Here, I have stepped away from traditional crystal production to explore both clear and coloured glass in a more personal and expressive way.

Living by the ocean continues to inspire my work—the changing light, movement of the water, and natural beauty of the coast shaping each piece I create. Each work reflects a lifelong connection to glass, place, and the stories held within this timeless material.”

Thank you Brian for creating beautiful glass art and for participating in our monthly small STUFF exhibit!
