✨May's Stove Spotlight - The Pacific Energy Super LE & Super Classic LE.

These 🍁Canadian🍁, catalytic-free, mid-sized stoves are rated for 72,000BTU and heat a space up to 2000 sq ft. With a North-to-South load, they can hold an 18" log, and boast a burn time of up to 10 hours on low setting. With a simple, single-lever air control, this easy-to-use stove is great for new owners and seasoned burners alike!

The Super Classic LE is available in a wide array of colours, including:

The door & legs come in Metallic Black, Nickel and Brushed Nickel finishes. The trivet in Nickel or Metallic Black.

The Super LE is available on legs or a pedestal, and can also be finished with Metallic Black, Nickel or Brushed Nickel door & legs.

Both models utilize Pacific Energy's patented stainless steel baffle system. The baffle introduces clean, super-heated air into the firebox, and when this super heated air is introduced to smoke it reignites. This gives you more heat, higher efficiency, and fewer pollutants up your chimney. The air wash system ensures a cleaner glass for longer, by "washing" heated air over the glass. This downward, sweeping air prevents smoke, soot and creosote from adhering to the glass.

🔍Over the last while, we have had many customers (both new and seasoned wood burners) asking about the advantages of using fire starters in the wood stoves and fireplaces. Connor is here today to give us a quick demonstration using EXTRA Wood Charcoal fire starters, in our Rumford 1000 fireplace.

🎤The common reoccurring questions we get asked are:

Q: How many should I use?
A: While we often use just one, in a larger stove using two or three can help to expedite the process and allow the flames to spread more evenly.

Q: Do I still need news paper and kindling?
A: That's the beauty of the starters! Very limited other starter material is required, if at all. We put some lighter, smaller pieces around the starter, but actual kindling and paper is not necessary.

Q: How long do they burn for?
A: Each brand and type is different, but on average they burn for 5 - 8 minutes. More than sufficient to get your fire established.

Q: What are they made of?
A: Generally, three simple ingredients: Compressed wood chips, paraffin wax and recycled paper.

A simple and beautiful install from our team of Jake & Ryan! This time, a Ventis HES140 with a fresh air intake in a corner of a new build.

🍁Simple, yet elegant. This Canadian built stove is rated for up to 1800sqft heating and takes a 16" log.

When installing a wood-burning appliance in a new build, we highly recommend incorporating a dedicated fresh air intake. Because modern homes are built extremely tight and well-sealed for energy efficiency, it is crucial to supply outside combustion air to the stove.

Without it, the fire competes for the limited oxygen inside, creating a negative pressure environment in the house. This negative pressure can actually reverse the chimney draft, pulling smoke back into your living space. This risk is especially high when everyday exhaust appliances—like clothes dryers, range hoods, or bathroom fans—are running, as they actively pull air out of the room.

To prevent this, we install a fresh air kit that connects directly to the stove. This allows the appliance to draw the air it needs from outside the home's envelope, ensuring a safe, efficient draft without fighting your home’s other ventilation systems.

🔥 Another gorgeous install from our Safeguard team! This time brought to you by our duo of Jake & Ryan.

This installation of an RSF - Focus 3600B involved altering the stone facade on the chase, supplying fresh air to the unit, and installing all new double-wall, stainless chimney.

These zero clearance units imitate the look and feel of a traditional fireplace, with the efficiency and quality of a modern woodstove. The Focus 3600 is rated for 1500sq.ft heating, and accepts an 18" log in it's 2.04 cu.ft firebox.
