Thank you for taking the time to visit my shop, I’m so glad you’re here! My name is Dorothy Davies and I am the founder and creator of Gather Designs. As a homemaker, I have a passion for creating a home atmosphere that is loving, cozy, and hospitable. Since getting married to my best friend in August 2017, I’ve lived in a number of small spaces (I once lived in a space as big as a garage!). But n

o matter how big or small, I’ve always found that it’s the personal touches that make a house a home. I started Gather Designs to use my creative gifts to design meaningful home decor items that add love and joy to a family’s home. Home decor should be more than just beautiful aesthetics or filling up an empty part of a room. Home decor should reflect what brings you joy and what matters most to you. Because personal will always be timeless. From my home to yours, I hope you enjoy your time here and find something that will fill your home with personal touches of love and joy.

📣An Important Update 📣

Hi everyone! If you are an email subscriber, you would have gotten a more detailed update from me. Here is an abbreviated version for my Instagram followers:

As of January 20, 2025, I will be closing down my storefront www.gatherdesigns.ca. As I anticipate what my future looks like in the foreseeable future, my priorities lie in other areas of my life and I will be choosing not to devote as much time into my creative work outside of the home.

However, this is NOT goodbye! I will be keeping my 🛍️ Etsy storefront (www.gatherdesignsca.etsy.com) 🛍️ where you can still access all of my current products and will have access to any future new products.

What else is in store for me?
❤️ Continuing to work, prioritize, and adapt to the ever-changing needs of my family.
🏡 As a stay-at-home mom/homemaker, my days are full and busy! There is no end to managing and organizing a household, and I am thankful to serve and bless my family in this way as the seasons and needs change.
📚 Homeschooling has officially begun and requires me to wear another hat 🙂.

And so, though apart of me is sad to let go of my Gather Designs storefront (remember, you can still find me on Etsy!) 🛍️, my future plans look busy and full of joy :).

Thank you to everyone who has supported my shop and purchased something I created (I still love seeing pictures of my prints up in your homes!), and if I have any future store updates, be sure to follow me on Instagram to keep up with this part of my journey 🙂.

Happy first day of Spring! 🌷🌼🌸

Here is an exclusive behind the scenes into my life as a creative 😄. E and I made some spring crafts yesterday! Creativity starts from such a young age and I always love seeing what E comes up with when we do art together. It’s amazing to witness her creativity developing and evolving!

What do you see when you look at our finished work?—Apart from the obvious flowers, I see a time shared bonding between mama and baby 👩‍👧, I see originality and “fun” (in the words of E) 🙂, brightness, colour, and happiness ☀️, I remember the smell of the fresh breeze coming in from the window 🪟, and hearing the sound of worship music filling the room 🎶.

Whenever we hang up our artwork, the room is instantly filled with a touch of brightness and warmth ❤️. What do your walls say? Do they say something meaningful to you?

Taking a walk with my girl ☀️💕

For those who don’t know, I am a full-time stay-at-home mom and homemaker ❤️. For the very few people who know, this career path was not actually one I originally thought of or planned for. But in God’s goodness, He turned a season filled with immense grief and sorrow and transformed it into something joyful ❤️.

Though a lot of my work is unseen, I am grateful that I get to spend my days raising and teaching this little one and nurturing and caring for our family and home 🏡👨‍👩‍👧. Everything you see in my shop is inspired by my family, my home, and my life ❤️ (so I truly mean it when I say “from my home to yours”)! 🙂

In other news, I’m working on a number of things behind the scenes as I lay down some groundwork for Gather Designs and I’m excited to see where it all goes!

This weekend Morgan and I are celebrating being together (dating) for 9 years! 👩🏻‍❤️‍👨🏻

Morgan and I met in university through our school’s Christian fellowship and our first date was at a Starbucks! ☕️🍵
