Our Story

The story of Possibilities starts with four family members, some auction sales and a possible venture into flipping houses. While we loved looking at furniture and saying, Oh the possibilities, we quickly realized we only wanted to decorate houses, not fix them. So after much, much, much discussion Possibilities was created. Initially we set up shop in half of our old location, 800 sq. ft. After the first year, we opened up the back area to gain a little more space. At the end of our second year, Lin and Jamie retired and our tenant decided to move. Lisa and Wendy took the plunge, tore down the wall and doubled the store size. It was then that we brought Kate into the business with the Itsy Bitsy Boutique, a store within the store. When the Marret building went up for sale, it was like a dream come true. We had long admired its beautiful historic details. But the size....4500 sq. ft. Could we ever fill it?? We took the risk, bought and renovated the building and opened in our new location on November 3, 2017. We are so pleased that we did! The 133 year old building suits our business perfectly. Lisa has her painting table on the first floor so everyone can watch the progress of her fabulously painted pieces and Wendy has her sewing table on the second floor amongst the fabric samples and pillow shelves. And while the Itsy Bitsy Boutique didn’t make the transition to the new building, Kate has again joined the team at Possibilities Inc. We look forward to many happy years of providing our very loyal customers with vintage furniture and home decor as well as custom painting and sewing.
