At SÓX̣ʷM̓ Wood Creations, we had the honour of contributing to an after-school program in Merritt through United Way.

While we are a small grassroots Indigenous company, children and working families hold a special place in our hearts because we are part of that community too. We understand how important it is for children to have a safe, caring place to land after school, a space where they can learn, play, connect, and simply be kids.

Recently, we received a thank you video and handmade cards from the children. To be honest, we never give with the expectation of receiving anything in return. Seeing the impact these programs have is more than enough. But those heartfelt drawings and messages touched us deeply.

One special hand-drawn card will be framed and displayed in our shop as a reminder of why community matters and how even small contributions can make a meaningful difference.
Thank you to everyone who makes programs like this possible. ❤️

✨ The thank you cards filled our hearts far more than the children will ever know.

sóx̣ʷm̓ Wood Creations had the honour of supporting an after-school program in Merritt through United Way. As a small grassroots Indigenous business, giving back to our community is deeply important to us.

Childcare and safe after-school spaces make a meaningful difference for working families. Every child deserves a place where they feel cared for, supported, encouraged to play outdoors, and have a safe place to land at the end of the school day.

We are proud to be a contributor to this important program and grateful to see the impact it continues to have in our community.
I encourage other local businesses, whether large or small, to consider supporting organizations in our little town of Merritt. Every donation matters, and together they can make a lasting difference for local children and families.

United Way recently shared this video with us, and it was wonderful to see the impact of these programs highlighted. ❤️

My friend Nicole Nicholas reached out looking for a custom chopping block to gift for a housewarming.

We brought the vision to life, carefully wrapped it, tucked in a note, and now it's ready to be shipped to its new home.

Thank you for trusting me to create something both beautiful and functional for such a special occasion.
