Is this thing on?

Adoption has been, by far, the best thing we’ve done in our lives. Also the most exhausting, loving, crazy-making, and sweetest. We are so happy! That being said it has taken me longer than I thought to get back into stitching. Thanks to a sweet friend who had me make these two as gifts for family members I’m feeling like I’m back in the groove.

Life update: between COVID and its side effects, then major surgery in July from whose complications I’m still recovering, things ‘round here really slowed down, stitch-wise. The best reason of all for the slowdown though (and the reason I started charging for my work in the first place) happened in November - my husband and I became the proud parents of two beautiful children. They have been living with us for about two weeks now and we couldn’t be happier, or more exhausted. When the six year old starts school in January, I foresee more time to work on projects for you! Until then I will be too busy with grilled cheese and chicken nuggets.
Here’s to a very special Christmas season for us.

NS SPCA Adoptable Highlight - Terrence and Kevin Cooey

"I tawt I taw a puddy tat", nope just some adorable budgie birds that are hoping to find themselves a loving home.​

This duo is Terrence (green) and Kevin Cooey (blue). Although they came into our care separately they have become best pals and are hoping that a family is willing to adopt both of them.​

We would love to find a home that has experience with budgies and the ability to allow them cage free living in their home. They are used to being loose and enjoy the freedom to spread their wings and do some fly bys once they are comfortable with you.

Unfortunately we do not have an age on either of these fellas, but have noted over their time with us that Kevin​ is the boss and is very vocal. He was found outside by a good Samaritan and took up residence with Terrance for company. They have been inseparable for almost a year now so they must go together.

Terrence and Kevin are not hand trained and much prefer to have some distance from humans, but with time and an experienced owner it could be worked with.

Please contact the Dartmouth SPCA if you are interested in giving this lovelies a home.

I’m finally starting to pull out of my very long struggle with COVID (thank Gord I am vaccinated- I’d hate to see what this would have done to me in 2020!) just in time to make this little beauty for Father’s Day. Great advice from a great dad!

You may have noticed I’ve been absent for a bit - COVID came to my house and although it’s been mild for most people I know, it sure hasn’t been for me. I’m still recovering and when I’m not at work, I’m sleeping... this means if you’ve been waiting on something for me it IS getting done, just not as quickly as I would like. All I can do is beg for your patience, folks.
