There’s something special about unlocking the doors to a business that has been a part of a community for over 120 years.

As fourth generation owners of our family business here in Mildmay, we don’t take that responsibility lightly. We’re not just owners on paper, we’re here working side by side as husband and wife, helping customers, solving problems, and navigating both the exciting seasons of life and the difficult ones too.

A lot has changed over four generations. The world moves faster now. Small businesses face challenges that previous generations could never have imagined - rising costs, changing shopping habits, economic uncertainty, and the pressure that comes with trying to compete in today’s world.

Some days are harder than others. Running a family business today means wearing a hundred different hats and carrying the weight of decisions that affect not only our family, but our staff, our customers, and our community too.

But through all of it, we still believe in what we do.

We believe there’s value in walking into a local store where someone knows your name. We believe small towns matter, and the businesses that keep them going matter too.

Most of all, we’re grateful. Grateful to the generations before us who built this business from the ground up, and grateful to every customer who continues to support local and keep businesses like ours alive.

Times may be changing but we’re proud to still be here today, and with the support of this community, hopeful to be here for many tomorrows to come.
