Edible Charcuterie Basket 🧺🧀
Who needs a picnic basket when you can eat the basket too? 😍 This beautiful charcuterie arrangement is built to look like a basket, complete with a braided bread handle on top.
Ingredients
• Bread dough (for the basket handle)
• Salami slices
• Prosciutto
• Cheese slices (provolone or mozzarella)
• Parmesan chunks
• Mini mozzarella balls
• Red grapes
• Green grapes
• Cherry tomatoes
• Mixed olives
• Fresh rosemary or thyme
• String or twine (for decoration, optional)
How to make it
1. Make the basket handle: Roll bread dough into long strips, braid them together and shape into an arch. Bake according to the dough instructions until golden and let it cool.
2. Create the border: Roll slices of cheese and salami into tubes and place them around the edge of a round board to form the “basket wall.”
3. Add the center: Fill the middle with grapes, olives, tomatoes, mozzarella balls, and chunks of cheese.
4. Make the roses: Roll salami or cheese slices into flower shapes and place them on top for decoration.
5. Assemble the basket: Secure the cooled braided bread handle into the arrangement so it arches over the board like a basket.
6. Finish: Add herbs like rosemary or thyme for color and a fresh look.
