The framed photos on my nightstand aren’t just styling.
The one on the left is my grandparents on their wedding day.
The one beside it is a reindeer from the trip I took to Finland for my 35th birthday. I fell completely in love with these animals over there. A dear friend printed and framed the photo for me when I got home, and I’ve kept it on my nightstand ever since.

This is what I mean when I say your home should hold your story. Not just look pretty. Not just photograph well. Actually hold the things and the people and the moments that make you, you.

The wallpaper is beautiful. The lavender nightstand is beautiful. But this little corner works because it’s honestly designed with details, colours, and moments I love. And I get to wake up to it every morning. 💚💜

Four years ago, I designed this bathroom. Today, I’d design it like this.

Same bones. Same beautiful oak vanity. Same proportions. But four years of growth has shifted my eye toward colour, toward courage.

A note: the second image is an AI visualization showing how I’d approach this same room today. The original is a finished project I’m still genuinely proud of.

This is what I love about being a designer. You’re never done evolving. Your eye keeps sharpening. Your point of view keeps deepening. The work you make at year fifteen will not be the work you made at year five and that’s the whole point.

There’s a video going around about the beige epidemic and honestly? It’s giving me feelings.

Colour used to be a status symbol, literally. Certain pigments were so rare and costly they were reserved for royalty. So yes, in that sense, colour was luxury.

But that was then.

Today, colour is available to every budget, every home, every person who’s been told to “keep it neutral for resale.” The only thing standing between you and a home that actually makes you feel something is the permission to go for it.

The science of colour is real. The shades around you affect your mood, your energy, your sense of calm or joy every single day. Choosing colour isn’t frivolous. It’s actually one of the most impactful decisions you can make for your wellbeing at home.

A quiet balance of warmth, light, and restraint.

Neutral bathrooms can often feel cold without careful consideration of materiality and detail. Here, every element was chosen to bring softness and depth to an otherwise understated palette.

Warm white walls set the foundation, layered with subtle panel moulding to create shadow and dimension. The framed oak cabinetry introduces natural warmth, while delicate bead detailing and raised panel profiles add a sense of craftsmanship and refinement.

Vintage-inspired brass fixtures and hardware bring a quiet richness, complemented by the softness of the rattan-wrapped sconce — each layer contributing to a space that feels calm, considered, and inviting.

This is the difference thoughtful planning makes: a space that doesn’t rely on contrast, but on balance.
