I love this cupboard so much 👏

Think of all the hutches that you think aren't nice anymore....or the sets of furniture we have from when we first moved out or passed down from our parents

How cool is it to separate that matching furniture and make into a great new piece... All it takes is some creativity and paint and voila !

We are in that great beautiful place...SPRING TIME!
🌱
Winter was so long and dreary, bringing colour into our homes right now is so inspiring.
Fresh flowers, moss, green accessories like candles throws ottoman trays and linens makes a big statement
My mentor always said "bring the outdoors in" with decorating and it still stands true to me today

I was MIA last week...I had a cell phone issue and although I was still checking my laptop for private messages and emails, one things for sure - we are living in this digital world, I couldn't believe how out of touch I felt !

I Loved the CREATE they had mounted up high ⭐
Also the hot air balloon was genius
And honestly - a set table mounted above the sweets counter ... SO cool!

Had an absolutely fantastic time at the Watering Can 🌿

I went with great friends and felt like I was transformed to a magical land :)
Not only was the atmosphere inviting and lovely, but the ideas ! They were outstanding !! Thinking of using an old antique chair - as a plant base !? And an old claw foot tub. And a canoe...a bike... I walked slowly to be sure to take it all in.... 5 stars !

Back to reality...and exciting things to come for your home
There's nothing like Christmas...but also having it put away and starting fresh is Lovely too!

Some recommendations for January:

*Keep that cozy ambiance of Winter... white lights and candles keep the room glowing and enjoying our Winter season
*Change up colour scheme to warm whites and neutrals.. even introduce bold colours like burgundy, cobalt blue and emerald green to add depth to the space (at this point I'm so done with red and white, my Christmas colours..which I loved just a short time ago!)
*Bring in nature... It looks stunning and just makes us feel good. I love to decorate with pinecones either displayed In a bowl or hurricane, and natural wreaths/ sprigs used to give the house that Winter greens look. Use decorative snowflakes to hang on display.. we just aren't done with winter quite yet !

I definitely don't love the grey days but we have to muddle through it - so I figure why not embrace the beauty and calmness Winter brings. Don't forget to add chunky throws into the room...it completes the look and they're so comfy so it's a two-time win !

It's that time of the year 🌲!
I absolutely love when I get to decorate for Christmas..I just feel so happy when my house is in Christmas mode
Who's with me?

I can't help but feel such joy when I'm pulling out the totes and seeing previous years Christmas items. I like to clear my shelves of the regular decor to make space for the Christmas. To me- displaying things in different ways each year is so much fun. I have special items that were around when I was a kid.. plus pieces I love from my Grandparents house and of course items that are so dear to me because my husband and I bought them together when we were first married.

Don't forget about your key places to decorate ...front door/ porch/ entranceway, The Christmas tree (obviously), Fireplace mantle, Staircases, Kitchen and Or dining room table.

Christmas brings a lot of tradition to people and their families. My favourite day of the whole season is Christmas tree day..since we were first married we always hiked into the wilderness and cut down our own tree. Then we come home and the tree gets set up and when we decorate it - we watch Christmas vacation :)

It's coming...I know it is!

To me -this has felt like that fastest Summer ever, it's so hard to believe we're coming into Fall.

If you're thinking of any Home projects (I know I am!) for when the kids are back to school and Cottage trips/ vacations come to an end, let me know. Reassessing your homes hopes and dreams is very exciting and September is a great time to do that 🍁

I love this so much....the soft blue vases and wildflower combination are so pretty. The vintage glass brings so much interest with the different shapes and of course the history. I always think where were these Bottles from, how old are they and what were they used for !

What can be better than fresh flowers on this awful day

Feeling blue from the rain?

Grab flowers for your table...change your placemats...light a candle...maybe paint ? Rocks for your garden or a canvas...there are so many diy videos for step by step painting, which can then be hung in your home showing your talent! If you paint rocks they can be displayed in the garden

Great weather is coming (it has to be!), I'm trying to keep my spirits up and the tulip bunches really helped today

My paint colour collection is complete ! I have the full line (briefcase style :) of Sherwin Williams !
