JaKaL has been working on an absolute treasure!!
This Art Deco waterfall dresser with gorgeous chevron-patterned drawer fronts has become a labour of love. 😊 Beautiful dentil moulding, inlay and toboggan style feet elevate this piece to next level collectible.
It takes some serious skill to sand that gorgeous walnut and mahogany veneer without punching through…..so humble brag from JaKaL for maintaining the integrity and beauty of this piece. 😉😊

Birch is notoriously difficult to stain but we are thrilled to show the results.
This beauty isn’t finished yet….stayed tuned for further developments. 😉😊

Finally the nice weather is here!!….although the J in JaKaL may disagree. 😉

JaKaL scored this Canadian-made MCM Villas dresser this winter. Three days of stripping and sanding revealed 100% Canadian birch!!….no veneer in sight!! 🎉🎉

Subtle but bold floral. Moody botanical elegance. Oversized floral across drawer fronts accents the gorgeous charcoal colour on the body of the piece.
Thoughtfully designed drawer sides, fully lined drawer beds and contemporary square drawer pulls complete the piece.

We never know what we’re going to find after removing decades of old paint.
In this case it was a gorgeous MCM (mid century modern) side table!
Made by furniture factory Vilas in Cowansville Quebec, this little table is Rock Maple.
Once those beautiful grains revealed themselves a simple restoration was all this baby needed to bring it back to life.
Such a little stunner that it didn’t even make it to market but was sold within the JaKaL family….giving us our first repeat client! ☺️

JaKaL has been hard at work this winter…honestly, what else can we be doing given the fierce weather!! ❄️

Just up-cycled…..this gorgeous antique dresser!!

Cleaned down to the raw wood, repainted, stenciled, transfer application and fully sealed
Subtle colours
Versatile piece

This is a solid, substantial all-wood dresser….they just don’t make them like this anymore!
