Day 4/40

You're probably not going to like what I have to say, but I have my big girl panties on, so let's talk. 🤐

I refuse to spec over-the-range microwave hoods. Period. 🛑

I had a client call me recently saying her OTR microwave was the literal bane of her existence, and she is 100% right. If you actually love to cook, these things make zero sense.

Here is why they are a design failure:

No Clearance: They sit way too low. If you want to use a large stock pot, forget it. There is zero room to move.

Massive Safety Hazard: Reaching over a blazing hot stove to pull boiling food out of a microwave at eye-level is dangerous—especially if you have kids.

The Ventilation Lie: They don't actually vent. Almost every home I visit with an OTR microwave isn't ducted outside. It just recirculates gross, greasy food air right back into your face.

Stop letting builders slap these into your spaces just to save a buck.

DAY 3/40

My journey to becoming a kitchen and bathroom designer was anything but a straight line. 🗺️

If you feel stuck or like you’re changing your mind too much, here is my exact path:

Late Teens: I had no idea what I wanted to do. My dad literally dropped me off at cooking school. I ended up working as a professional cook 5 for years.

The Pivot: I went to vet school next. I wanted it to work, but I couldn’t handle the euthanizing part, so I dropped out.

Design School #1: I transitioned into design however the education focused on commercial spaces. It was great, but I still needed something more.

The Sweet Spot: I went to for their specialized Kitchen and Bathroom program.

That was the turning point. It perfectly tied my years of experience as a professional cook with my design skills. I don't just design kitchens for looks, I design them because I actually know how a high-functioning kitchen needs to run. 🍳✨

Every "failed" pivot was actually just preparation.

DAY 2

My Big "Why" 👇🏽

People think being a kitchen and bathroom designer is just about beautiful finishes and layouts. It's not. My real "Why" is about legacy, impact, and a very specific island.

Here is what gets me out of bed every morning:

My Daughter: I’m building a financial foundation so she doesn’t have to start from scratch. I want her to see her mom building an empire so she knows what’s possible.

Grenada: Every kitchen I design is a brick in the bridge to my ultimate dream, retiring in Grenada where most of my family lives.

The Psychological Shift: Your environment dictates how you feel. I do this for the absolute joy my clients experience when they walk into a space that finally aligns with who they are.
