Here's a picture of me & my twin sister -- during our very first Christmas!! Another one of my favorites.

I'm not sure what we were given, but it seems that we overwhelmingly preferred the box and ribbon!! 😅😅

These photos were taken ~100 years apart! & It's one of my favorite pictures of my grandmother Ruth.

She would have been ~20 years old here. As for me: 40!!

(& Yes, we've got some long generations in my family! My grandfather passed away at 90, I was 6.)

The stunning electric blue trees in the background were a site specific installation that we visited in Memphis, Tennessee. (January 2024)

These are cut paper collages, made using printed imagery of fabric patterns.

The fabric is manipulated to capture light, photographed, sometimes digitally colorized, and printed on archival matte paper. Shapes are then cut and arranged to create visual tension.

No matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to stop these wayward cells from multiplying.

Something that you may not know about me is that I'm a PACKAGE DEAL. I came into the world this way, with my best friend by my side.

💓 She's my heartbeat. 💓

This is a picture of my beautiful mother holding her twins, Katherine and Bethany (me!!).

We are fraternal and couldn't look more different from one another. She takes after Mom, while I take after Dad.

Let's guess who is older!

This book about *SHORTY THE CHIMPANZEE* was written by my grandmother Ruth and published in 1936. My grandfather took the pictures.

All of that leads to some pretty wild stories, and we'll get to that part soon!!!

For as long as I can remember, I've been collecting copies of this book so that my sisters and nieces can have copies.

The photos of this copy only showed the cover, which is typical. So when I opened it up, I got quite the surprise:

It was signed by my grandmother, grandfather, ...and Shorty!!!

Even though I'm her carbon copy, I have no memories of my grandmother. So being reunited with this book feels extra special.

(& I'm extremely grateful to the resellers who identified these as something special and prevented them from becoming landfill. Thank you!!)

Dear friends, I never did properly introduce myself to you -- so I'd like to make up for that!

Hi, I'm Bethany!

And ever since I was little, I've loved to cook. I'm grateful to have had parents who encouraged me to learn and explore. The messes must have been horrific.

Left: making some sort of concoction.

Right: Inspired by early 90's cooking show recipes, I'd treat my parents to periodic date nights. & As their chef, I'd prepare a menu.

Anyway, it was the only way I could get my recipes funded! 😅 And this one was a roast and all the fixings, I think?

Dad took photos as I explained the dish to him and Mom.

He included this photo in some of our correspondence. This is the contents of one letter. Always sending me treasures.
