Plein air day at a beautiful cut flower farm. Did this little painting in an hour, big shapes then splashes of colour detail.

A little plein air with the group - Rathtrevor. Still trying to figure out light. Sunlight, inside light, light with a blue spectrum, light with a yellow spectrum plus the chemical make up of paints sure makes painting a challenge. And folks think there is no science in art.

First plein with the group I have been able to join up with this year. I have often thought of painting this scene but felt so overwhelmed. And here is where we ended - opportunity to take a painted learning experience and see where it goes. It was cold - reminder to wear gloves next time. Had a great time.

It has been a few months since I have worked on a painting. Not sure if this is finished yet but here it is. Have a show at Serious Coffee in the North End next month so need to get busy. I will be joined by Janice Evans - our styles are so different - will be a good show.

This painting sold at the Nanaimo Artwalk this year. It ended up going to Kamloops. So satisfying when a painting sells - very confirming.
