A quiet reminder

As I was heading out today, a dragonfly settled on our Flora garden statue.

I absolutely love dragonflies. They are so mystical and spectacular. I paused to watch it, taking in how naturally it had found its place in the garden. The plants, the colour palette, the stone pathway, the places for birds and butterflies to visit have been each placed with intention. Each piece chosen because it felt right.

At the store, a customer was taken in by the decor and asked if my home looked like this. It made me giggle.

These interactions make me reflect on how much of ourselves finds its way into the spaces we create, often without us fully realizing it.

I have never wanted to fill a space simply for the sake of filling it. I want the things I create, and bring into Rural Roots Bliss + Gifts, to have a reason for being there. Natural. Thoughtful. Beautiful in a way that feels effortless.

Perhaps that is what people are noticing when they enter the store and linger.

Creating something with care, and leaving enough space for life to find its way into it.

That is the heart and soul of Rural Roots Bliss + Gifts.

As we chatted, she shared how much she enjoys coming to Rural Roots Bliss + Gifts. She said it’s one of her favourite places to shop, as it is a calm and healing space for her.

Her words sat with me long after she left.

Creating a place that brings a sense of calm and connection has always been the intention behind Rural Roots Bliss + Gifts.

Some days, the most meaningful part of this work isn’t what leaves the store. It’s what stays behind.

I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want this space to become.

Of course, I’ll continue sharing the products I create, but I’d also like to share the moments that truly inspire them.

I’ve always loved writing, and lately I’ve felt the need to share a little more of my world. Not because I have something profound to say, but because I’ve realized how often the smallest moments become the ones that stay with me.

When I created Rural Roots Bliss + Gifts, I hoped it would be more than a place to shop. I wanted it to be a place where people felt welcome, where they could slow down for a little while and leave feeling lighter than when they arrived.

I’d love for this space to feel the same way.
