I had to share this great little cabinet. The advertising is for the Ontario Laundry company. Despite the name, the company was a longstanding Calgary business. So much that I have had and/or seen many yardsticks, coat hangers and even a laundry bag named to this company.
I believe this medicine cabinet is probably 1920s and I almost wonder if it was in the business itself..
I found the matching phone number inside the cabinet of M7931 also in a 1945 Calgary telephone book!

I absolutely love real photo postcards.
In the day (circa 1920) you would take your pictures with your brick sized ‘pocket camera’ and have the images printed onto postcard paper. In effect you made your own personal postcards.
The best RPPCs were done professionally like the 2 from Vancouver which I singled out in my pics. You can actually get right into the details with a magnifying glass.
The other cards are representative of local historical, holiday cards and unusual for the eyes card.
These cards are mostly from the golden age of postcards. Pre WW1. 1908, 1909.

Here are a couple new to the shop pieces.
The furniture piece is called a ‘Canterbury’. It was designed to be a sheet music holder. I love the turned wooden spindles and dark walnut veneer. I would say about 1870.
The lamp is nice and solid. It was a bonus that the glass inserts are uranium glass.
I put them both in the front window 😬😬.

I would be certain that there aren’t many of these out there. I like the primitive nature of this 1/4 pound to***co tin. Nice Canadian piece! I am guessing around 1910.
Whomever ‘prepared’ the mixture autographed their signature on the back 🤣
I also love the inscription in pencil on the bottom. ‘Henry Jackson Feb 28 1942’.
Perhaps a treasure prized by Henry over 80 years ago!!!!
