So many squash or are they pumpkins?

Planted these Kabocha Squash or also known as
Japanese Pumpkins for a new try.

From my research they sound pretty yummy - and I’ve not had a Kabocha Squash before. (even the name sounds cool)

It’s going on the menu tonight!

The Blue Door Bakery & Cafe…

It’s Time!!’

To introduce you to the - Petal Hut!

Although it’s not completely finished and there are still some finishing touches to be done … I just can’t wait to OPEN the doors to our new little build offering all things - flower !

So… what better time than this long Thanksgiving weekend to do just that.

As it is Thanksgiving … we’ll have some mini dried flower pumpkins ( great hostess gift) and a limited number of fresh flower pumpkin
centrepieces for your table + other flower finds.

We hope if you’re out and about on this long weekend - Thursday (8th)- 1 to 4
- Fri./Sat(9th& 10th) 11 to 5
- Sun. (11th) 11 to 4

you’ll stop by and visit the antique shop and check out the Petal Hut 🌸🛖 too!!

Love House Greenery ?…

Nothing like greenery in the winter months to lift the spirits and let you know Spring will arrive…
especially if you’re a plant person…❤️

Hawk Vale - Antiques & Flower Farm still have a few houseplants available for you!!

1. Gryphon Begonia - a rather old fashioned houseplant that were very common in
“Grandma’s house”. These healthy plants with large spotted, dark green leaves with an attractive red hue on the underside. Plants can get large and grow fairly quickly . Real beauties!!
$10 to $20. depending on pot & plant size

2. Pickle Plant - interesting little soft succulent which can grow to 18” A fun little plant - that grows every which way- in a fun little pot.
$12.

They are currently in the greenhouse awaiting new homes - so please - feel free to stop by or reach out if your home needs a little fun greenery for those dark, chilly months.

What’s Next?

How about these sweet - mini white pumpkins all dressed up with a mix of dried flowers and grasses. Each one is totally unique with their
own little personalities.

They are so fun to create and fuss over!
They’re relatively quick and easy to create which makes it the perfect afternoon workshop to do with a friend of two while you create- you can visit and catch up.

To add to that “let”s get together” outing - tea and sweets can be provided the old fashioned way - tea pot and tea cups and the sweets from a local bakery. (optional)

Choices? - create 3 single mini pumpkins OR
1 single and a double stacked OR
2 singles which sit freely on a stained
wooden cookie. (not shown)

Reserve any day next week -
Monday to Friday - Oct. 5th - 9th
2 to 4 pm

Cost?
Option 1 -$30./ person for just pumpkin workshop
Option 2 -$45./ person with tea and sweet treats

a message indicating your interest and the day best suited for you- how many people will be attending and which workshop option you prefer. (with or without tea/sweet)

I’ll confirm your day along with the total cost and our e transfer info for pre payment to secure your space.
