A few of our favourite exteriors designed with their surroundings in mind.

Looking back at a special project as Vince DeVito’s Shoes & DeVito’s Shoe Repair celebrates 100 years in business this year.

With the next generation preparing to take the lead, the family saw an opportunity to expand into the neighbouring space and create something that honours the history of DeVito’s while looking to its future.

Working alongside , we created a warm, welcoming space designed for everything from classic work boots to dress shoes and runners.

One of our favourite details is the solid fir flooring, beautifully stained by . It brings so much warmth and character to the space... and will only get better with age,

A century of history, thoughtfully carried into its next chapter.

Lakeside Residence // Primary Bedroom

We love a moody bedroom, especially one with a front-row seat to the lake.

A little moody, a little cozy, and the perfect place to unwind.

Stillwater House // Kitchen

The honed Cygnus granite was chosen to bring natural movement and depth to the quiet palette without competing with the real focal point - the view.

In a space flooded with natural light, the honed finish was just as important as the stone itself, softening glare while being more forgiving of fingerprints, smudges and the realities of day-to-day life. Paired with custom oak millwork and warm oak floors, it gives the kitchen just the right amount of contrast.

The Paint Edit

Seven shades that feel especially at home here in the Kootenays, inspired by the landscape and the warm, grounded palettes I return to time and again.

Tried-and-true favourites, all in one place.

Revisiting one of our favourites - the Nelson Brewing Company tap room.

A truly collaborative process from the outset, grounded in a shared vision for a space that felt distinctly NBC. Seeing the taproom become such a well-loved gathering place within the community has made the project all the more meaningful.

Thoughtful spaces have a way of bringing people together... and this one does just that.

Good things develop over time.

When our client purchased this home in 2020, we started with a few thoughtful changes that allowed him to settle in and live with the space before deciding what it really needed.

Several years later, he was ready to fully commit to a new kitchen.

The goal wasn’t to erase what was there, but to design a more efficient kitchen that felt as though it had always belonged to the home. We kept the existing floors, wall tile, baseboards and window casings, allowing those original elements to guide what came next.

The result is a kitchen that feels collected rather than newly installed, rooted in the character of the home, but made for the way it’s lived in today.

Sometimes the best spaces need a little time...

Work in progress... These are the views we're always most excited to see take shape.

Light shapes atmosphere, and layering it shapes experience.

Stillwater House // Powder Room

Small in scale, considered in every detail.

Inspired by Japanese onsens and our clients' travels, this powder room was designed to make the most of a compact footprint. Custom millwork wall panelling extends from the entry, creating continuity, while a concrete-inspired sink and Cygnus granite countertop bring texture and warmth to the space.

Proof that thoughtful design doesn't require a lot of square footage.
