A little reminder to myself: I don’t have to have it all figured out before I show up.
As a designer, it’s so easy to get caught up in how things look — the space, the image, the grid, the details.
But we also live in a world that is constantly telling us what we should be doing, how we should look, how we should show up, and what success is supposed to look like. And it’s so easy to look at someone else’s polished version and wonder why yours doesn’t look the same.
And somewhere in all of that, I’m also trying to find the balance between being a mom and building a business I really care about.
Answering a client call while hearing “Mommy, I need you!” from the other room. Switching from work mode to mom mode in about three seconds. Sitting here in a pair of glasses one of my kids broke and wondering, “How will all of this get done — and somehow look effortless while doing it?”
Because somewhere along the way, that became the expectation.
Some days I find the balance. Some days I absolutely don’t.
Lately, I’m reminding myself that there’s value in showing up while things are still in progress. I want this space to be a reflection of me, not a performance of perfection.
So here’s to a little less overthinking, a little more imperfection, and remembering that authenticity is a superpower. 🤍
