The older I get, the more I believe in imperfection being a better path.
Don’t let it decay, but let it age.
Don’t let it crumble, but let it soften.
Don’t let it break, but let it bend.
Chasing perfection is beaten into our brains with AI, ozempic, airbrushing, posing, staging and photoshop. It’s not always perfect, in fact, it rarely is. And there’s no end. There’s no one day when the house is finished and it is never lived in again. So I’m being gentler (or trying to) with myself, my opinions of my life, my view on my successes and failures.
And I’m thinking that if we all loved things for their character and charm, how much happier would we be?
