I’m not gonna lie. The year of the wood snake was not a lot of fun.
And I came into it with high expectations. ( I was born in the year of the wood snake. I thought this year would be life altering.)
It wasn’t.
It was a rough year.
Like a serpent shedding its skin, I have released so much. I feel raw. Perhaps that was point.
Anyway: I’m super excited to say goodbye to the wood snake.
Tonight, I’m doing a fire ceremony. If you don’t know, a fire ceremony is helpful for “burning away” things that no longer serve you or aren’t in your highest good.
I’m burning the residues of all the things that I’ve released this year. I want none of this gunk hanging around when fire horse comes galloping in.
If you’d like burn some s**t too, here’s how you do it:
• On a sheet of paper, write all the things you’re ready to release. Leave a space between each one so you can cut them apart.
• At the same time, imagine what you’re calling in to replace what you’re letting go. (The universe abhors a vacuum. You want to intentionally fill that void yourself or the universe will do it for you – and you might not like what you get.)
• Cut your paper.
• Get your fire-safe receptacle and ready. I usually use a tea light in my cast iron pot.
• Drop your burnables into the fire one by one. Each time, as the paper burns, call in what you want instead.
Fire horse gallops in February 17. I’ll be ready.
