Dr. Lisa Petty - Soul Gardening You’ve made it. Take the free quiz. This is the rhythm of seasons that show us when to sow and when to reap. And the Earth is so very generous. That’s us now.

You can stop faking it | For women who’ve outgrown who they had to be | Shamanic Practitioner | Deep healing for soul-aligned success | 🎤 Host: Don’t Tell Me to Calm Down | What is your burnout telling you? Along with our concern about toxins in mass-produced products used for personal and home care, we’re also aware that many of us have lost connection with Nature and the rhythm of the Earth. It’

s the rhythm of the rise and fall of the sun to gently shake us awake in the morning, and makes our eyelids heavy at night. It’s also the rhythm that comes from standing bare-foot on the grass: You may not feel the vibration, but you likely feel its effect as your heart opens and your cares melt – if only for a while. In summer, our senses bask in the scents and colours of plants and flowers in full-bloom, and the beginnings of fresh food from the ground. Fall brings us a bountiful harvest, along with the reminder that life is fleeting and precious. Winter allows us to go inward, to learn, and to rest. Spring, of course, is a time of renewal, and the opportunity to try what we have learned. We could take it all for granted, or we could acknowledge that these gifts are acts of love. And so we want to give back. We want to reduce the burden on the Earth caused by persistent chemicals in consumable products. We want to cut down on pollution caused by importing products and ingredients from around the globe. We want to support the native plants and pollinators including bees, birds, butterflies and insects that keep our ecosystem humming. In other words, we want to show the earth some love. Because love is also a verb, we knew we had to do something. That’s how “loving earth” came to be. We wanted to put our intentions into action. (Plus, we love how it’s recripocal and truly believe the Earth loves us back.) So here’s what we’re doing: we’re developing and perfecting consumable products we all need, using raw materials straight from Canadian farms. If you don’t know what we mean by this, take a mindwalk back in time. Imagine what it was like for indigenous Canadians and early settlers to Canada who created meals, medicine and home comforts using only the plants and herbs they harvested themselves or got through trade with other farmers. (Full disclosure: We will be using modern conveniences like stoves and refrigerators and whatnot. We’re not insane.) We’d like to invite you to join us on the journey. We’ll be regularly blogging our progress, and letting you know our trials, tribulations, failures and successes along the way. We’ll share insights and tips from decades of research and experience in natural health care and native gardening. We’ll even explore ways we can add a little more love and magic into our lives. Please be sure to sign up to our Loving Earth news to hear the latest, and join us on your social networks. We’d love to hear from you!

I’m not gonna lie. The year of the wood snake was not a lot of fun.

And I came into it with high expectations. ( I was born in the year of the wood snake. I thought this year would be life altering.)

It wasn’t.

It was a rough year.

Like a serpent shedding its skin, I have released so much. I feel raw. Perhaps that was point.

Anyway: I’m super excited to say goodbye to the wood snake.

Tonight, I’m doing a fire ceremony. If you don’t know, a fire ceremony is helpful for “burning away” things that no longer serve you or aren’t in your highest good.

I’m burning the residues of all the things that I’ve released this year. I want none of this gunk hanging around when fire horse comes galloping in.

If you’d like burn some s**t too, here’s how you do it:

• On a sheet of paper, write all the things you’re ready to release. Leave a space between each one so you can cut them apart.

• At the same time, imagine what you’re calling in to replace what you’re letting go. (The universe abhors a vacuum. You want to intentionally fill that void yourself or the universe will do it for you – and you might not like what you get.)

• Cut your paper.

• Get your fire-safe receptacle and ready. I usually use a tea light in my cast iron pot.

• Drop your burnables into the fire one by one. Each time, as the paper burns, call in what you want instead.

Fire horse gallops in February 17. I’ll be ready.

𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿. What is the question?

Well, there’s more than one. Here are some I hear from women:

⮡ Why do I feel trapped in a life I created?
⮡ Why does my success feel like a dead end?
⮡ What is the point of working so hard for something I’m not sure I want anymore?
⮡ Why am I so, so, so tired?
⮡ Why do I feel like I don’t know who I am?
⮡ What if “this is it” for me?
⮡ Why do I feel like I’m hiding parts of myself?
⮡ Is it too late to want something else?

If any of these questions pop into your head in the middle of the night, or at a stoplight on the way to work, or when you can’t catch onto a deep breath, change is afoot in your life.

You can ignore it. Try some self care.

Or you can step into the next version of yourself. The one who has what you won’t admit out loud that you really want.

We’re coming to the end of the wood snake era. To quote my dearly departed Dad, “Hey snake? Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.”

Now, I’m not an astrologer but I do pay attention to energies out in the world. It’s from this perspective that I share:

For a lot of us, 2025 was a rough ride.

So much shedding: Jobs. Dreams. Relationships.

Delusions.

So much frustration and confusion.

For me, there was stagnancy and shedding. Those things sound mutually exclusive, but they slide around each other like butter in a hot skillet.

Not what I expected, as someone born in the year of the wood snake. Where I anticipated outward expansion, I got layer upon layer of going inward. It got raw.

We’re gearing up for fire horse, which will bring powerful transformation energy. Where the snake went deep, the fire horse will hot and intense. Saddle up.

Fire horse is a few weeks away. You’ve got time to release what you need to release before the horse gallops in.

It’s gentler to be intentional about the changes you make in your life and your self than have them thrust upon you.

Fair warned is fair armed.

You're pouring your third coffee by 10am and you can't remember if you already responded to that text.

Your jaw aches because you've been clenching it in your sleep again.

Someone asks "how are you?" and you hear yourself say "busy!" like it's a badge of honor, but inside you're thinking: Is this really it?

You've built this life. The career, the reputation, the version of yourself everyone relies on. And from the outside, it looks like you have it together.

But when you're alone—really alone—there's this low hum of dread you can't name. Like you're waiting for something to crack.

Here's what I know: That feeling has a name. And a stage. And a reason.

You're standing somewhere specific in the Heroine's Journey—that ancient pattern of transformation women have been walking for centuries. The one we weren’t warned about and got no guidance for.

And where you are right now is trying to tell you something.

I made a quiz. Not the fun "which pasta shape are you?" kind. The kind that looks you in the eye and says: "Oh. This is like Hecate. Standing at the crossroads. That's why nothing makes sense right now."

Or: "You're like Hera. Going through the motions of a role that doesn't fit anymore. That's why you feel so heavy."

Two minutes. Five archetypes. One surprisingly accurate read on why your chest gets tight when you think about the next twelve months.

Take it. See if it lands.

Because the thing you're feeling? It's not in your head. And it has a map.

NEW EPISODE DROPPED:

You're self-aware. You've done the therapy. You can explain exactly why you people-please, overwork, or struggle with boundaries. So why are you STILL saying yes when you mean no?

Why do those boundaries keep dissolving?

In this episode, we explore why understanding your patterns isn't the same as healing them. I break down what core wounds are, why they live in your nervous system (not your thinking mind), and how the false identity you built as a child is suffocating you as an adult.

Here’s what keeps women stuck: you can intellectually understand your core wound and still be completely controlled by it.

This is especially challenging for women who got by with their intellect, who were “the smart one,” who ‘intelligented’ their way out of every situation. But core wounds don’t live in your thinking mind.

They live in your nervous system.

Age 17 – graduated from high school
Age 21 – Started university (the first time)
Age 25 – Got married (the first time)

The middle bits might feel familiar so you probably don’t need the details. I stuffed myself into everyone else’s expectations of who I should be, and how to look, how to behave, and when to feel really shameful about myself when I wasn’t hitting that super-high standard set for women.

(But we didn’t know any better, did we?)

I burned out through people-pleasing, over-thinking and the constant pretending to be someone I’m clearly not so the feathers didn’t ruffle.

I’d played by their rules, had the successes “they” told me to have, and fell into a deep case of “What’s the point of all this, anyway?”

The “fake it til you make it” button got stuck and I started to fake everything. I didn’t remember who I was anymore.

Until…

Age 50+ – I finally understood how little I had been in control of my experiences my entire life. I unlearned the garbage programming that had me second-guessing myself 24/7. I got back in touch with me – what I’m good at, what I want, how to be of service.

And why do you care about my story?

Because if you’ve also done all the things and have the all the successes and you’re wondering: “What’s the point of all this anyway?”…

Then you’re standing at a crossroads. Go one way and you carry on, as you were, inhaling and exhaling.

Choose the other direction, and you can create a version of your life that takes your breath away.

How will you choose?

Here’s why AI coaching can’t compete with fresh-baked cookies.

A few days ago, I read a post by Sam Cole that compared behaviour change to baking cookies.

Sam explained that when you want to change behaviours (like habits or life direction things), there are lot of variables to consider. In baking, it’s things like ingredients, ratios, temperature, timing and so on.

In behaviour, it’s human contributions and environment, including temperament, previous experience, skill level, and, from my own perspective, desire, beliefs, wounds etc.

In other words: there’s a lot of influential stuff going on inside and around a human.

Which is why using AI for coaching is ineffective at best and potentially harmful at worst if you’re trying to shift something in your human life.

→AI is based on the garbage-in, garbage out model. It can tell you only the general program for general situations that’s been programmed into it. But you’re not general. You have a whole bag of ingredient substitutions to work with.

𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘈𝘐 𝘤𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘦 𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘴.

→AI can only answer the question you ask. But often you haven’t worked through to the question behind the question that will give you the direction you need. Human mentors will prompt you to go a little bit past your comfort zone when they sense you’re ready.

𝘚𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘵 𝘈𝘐 𝘤𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘦.

→It’s not up to AI to answer your questions, anyway. It’s up to you to answer your questions, because you’re the expert on you – even if your wisdom is locked away. Your mentor is there to guide you.

Answers that come from AI about your own experience would be (a) wrong (2) shallow and (likely) a distraction from the things you don’t want to look a but need to look at to grow.

𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘣𝘰𝘯-𝘣𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘈𝘐 𝘤𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘦.

→AI doesn’t have a plan. AI is waiting for you to create the path for your journey. Good luck getting out of the familiar, dark woods as you follow the crumbs you threw down running in circles in your crazy, busy life.

Success requires a proven map along with a bunch of substitutions socked away when the human looking at the map is struggling.

𝘉𝘪𝘳𝘥𝘴 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘈𝘐 𝘤𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘦.

We’re seeing a LOT of AI encroaching on the content, course and program creation space. Make sure any coach you work with didn’t download their course or “program” from AI. Look for the human touch. That's where the real transformation happens.

***

TLDR: You can’t get a delicious, made-for-you path to the warm, chocolate-chip human life of your dreams using an AI cookie-cutter coaching-machine.
