I’ve been invited to give a presentation to high school students about my business. I hope I can offer some meaningful inspiration to students who have so many opportunities ahead of them. I’d like to share the message I have shared it with them.
I came to Canada without speaking English. I unexpectedly became a stay-at-home mom. I started a business without a business plan. I faced a pandemic that shut everything down. But every challenge became a new opportunity. When one door closes, another door opens.
Don’t be afraid to start small. Don’t be afraid to change direction. And don’t let fear stop you from trying. Sometimes the thing you love doing—even as a hobby—can become your career.
Success is not about having a straight line. It’s about being brave enough to keep going, learning, and adapting. You are capable of more than you think.
Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Every negative experience is an opportunity to learn and grow. Don’t stop. Keep going—even if it’s just a small step. One day, those small steps will become something big.
