A kitchen renovation is never just about the before and after.

There’s also the very real in-between: the dust, the disruption, the surprises behind the walls, the missing kitchen, and the moment when it feels like it may never end.

At the beginning, everything feels exciting. You’re full of ideas and dreaming about what the space could become. But somewhere in the middle, things get messy — physically and emotionally.

And that’s often the moment when people feel overwhelmed, second-guess decisions, or start compromising on the dream.

That is exactly why having a designer by your side matters.

A designer is not only there to make things beautiful. We’re there to guide you through the chaos, problem-solve when surprises come up, help you make smart decisions, and keep your vision intact all the way to the finish line.

Because when the work is done and your dream kitchen finally comes to life, the tears are no longer from stress… they’re tears of happiness.

Thinking about renovating your kitchen? DM me “KITCHEN” and let’s talk about how to bring your dream space to life.

says jealousy can teach you something…..

Have you ever seen someone’s beautiful home online and felt that little sting of jealousy? Before you judge yourself, get curious. Maybe you’re not jealous of their kitchen. Maybe you’re craving more calm. Maybe you’re not jealous of their dining room. Maybe you’re craving more connection. Maybe you’re not jealous of their organized home. Maybe you’re craving ease. The Let Them Theory reminds me: let them have what they have. Then ask, what is this showing me about what I want?”

Think about what you are jealous of, let them have it, take that as a clue and focus your energy on making small steps to reach your goals

Mel Robbins is coming to Vancouver, and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Mother’s Day than by seeing her live on stage.

I’m a big fan of Mel’s work. So many of her podcast episodes have shaped not only how I move through my daily life, but also how I think about the way we live inside our homes.

Her message reminds me that our thoughts, habits, relationships, and environments are all connected. The rooms we wake up in, the spaces where we gather, the corners where we rest, and the places where we dream — they all influence who we are becoming.

I loved her book The Let Them Theory. Such a powerful reminder to release what we cannot control and put our energy back into our own peace, choices, and growth.

I can’t wait to see her on stage tonight and celebrate this Mother’s Day feeling inspired, grateful, and ready for the next chapter.

Save this post so you can go listen to my favourite episodes.

Happy Mother’s Day!!! To my mom that is always guiding me from above, and to all the beautiful moms!

“Anyone else going to see Mel Robbins tonight in Vancouver?”

Today marks 13 years since my grandmother passed away. She lived 99 beautiful, full years, and not a day goes by that I don’t realize how much of who I am today began with her.

She was an artist, and without ever sitting me down to “teach” me anything, she planted a seed in me — a love for art, for beauty, for creating, for seeing the world with curious eyes.

I grew up in Mexico City, surrounded by colour, culture, museums, galleries, artists, and conversations about creativity. At the time, it just felt like life. I didn’t know that those moments were shaping me, that they were quietly building the foundation for the career and the life I would later choose.

Now, looking back, I see it so clearly.

It makes me smile to think that at some point, a small part of me already existed inside this wonderful woman, long before I was born, when she was carrying my mother. There is something so profound about that — how love, creativity, and passion travel through generations without us even noticing.

Thank you, Grandma, for the gift of seeing beauty in the world.
And for teaching me, without words, how to create.

Is there someone in your life who shaped who you are today without even realizing it?

There’s something so inspiring about opening a box full of possibilities

We were excited to receive this beautiful marketing box from & sent to just 100 designers across Canada. Inside: a curated selection of sample products that invited us to explore, play, and create.

Unboxing these samples was more than simply reviewing products—it was a moment of inspiration. We layered textures, explored tonal relationships, and composed a palette that feels refined and inviting.

This is one of the parts of design we love most—taking individual elements and discovering how they can come together to tell a story.

Materiality matters. The feel, the colour, the contrast, the balance… every detail helps shape the mood of a space.

Thank you, Anderson Tuftex, for the thoughtful presentation and for giving designers the opportunity to experience your products in such a hands-on

I’m thrilled to share a glimpse of this year’s TEDx Surrey stage design — my seventh year creating for this incredible event. Every year is an opportunity to shape a space where powerful ideas come to life, and this one is especially close to my heart.

For 2026, I continued my love of working with recyclable cardboard, transforming it into bold, geometric forms that celebrate creativity, sustainability, and innovation.

But this year, we’re taking it one step further…
🔺 An interactive stage experience
Speakers will actually walk through the installation before stepping onto the iconic red dot — moving through the design as part of their journey to deliver their talk. It’s immersive, symbolic, and unlike anything we’ve done before.

TEDx Surrey is officially sold out, but you don’t have to miss a moment.
🎟️ Livestream tickets are still available — so you can watch all 12 inspiring speakers from anywhere.

Don’t miss the ideas, the energy, and the magic we’ve been crafting behind the scenes

✨ IDS Vancouver 2025 highlights ✨

Another inspiring year at — here are some of my absolute favorites:

🎨 The best art from I’m such a fan of his work, and every time I see it, he raises the bar again with incredible use of reclaimed materials.

🔥 The single vertical towel warmer by — let’s be honest, robe hooks may have just become obsolete.

🐇 I can’t get enough of the playful rabbit fabric by a perfect mix of whimsy and sophistication.

⚡️ downdraft induction cooktop — truly a game changer in kitchen design.

🧖🏻‍♀️ The outdoor sauna by Vancouver Sauna has me dreaming about a full backyard redo.

🌟 The talent in the Prototypes section blew me away, especially the multifunctional piece by .a.roo — thoughtful, creative, and forward-thinking.

Thank you IDS Vancouver for sparking ideas, pushing boundaries, and filling us all with inspiration once again. 💫

I know this might surprise you… but I’ve written a children’s book!

As a designer, I’m always thinking about creating spaces where imagination and stories can come to life — and that’s really what Emanuel’s Apples is about.

It’s a short, sweet story about curiosity, gratitude, and being open to new possibilities… and it takes less than three minutes to read!

So swipe through and enjoy — and if you love it, share it with someone you care about
