Sometimes you want separation without closing a space off.

These steel and fluted glass doors by Novin Doors Ltd. do exactly that—creating a clear transition into the office while still allowing light to move between the spaces.

The fluted glass adds privacy without feeling completely closed off, while the steel frame gives the opening the definition we wanted.

One of those details that completely changed how this part of the home feels.

It’s been a busy (and exciting) few weeks around here.

We recently went to Montreal with House of Rohl Canada for a few days of learning, inspiration, and getting to know the products we already love even better.

Back at the studio, we’ve welcomed six new projects and wrapped up a photoshoot for one of our recent projects, which we can’t wait to share.

I also just got back from my annual family cabin trip to Saskatchewan. It wasn’t completely unplugged, but a change of scenery is always a welcome reset.

Now I’m just counting down the days until the furniture arrives for my house.

Rebecca and Jessica first worked together at Kennedy Construction, making her addition to the JBD team years later a natural fit.

Now based in Europe, Rebecca supports our projects remotely, using the time difference to help keep projects moving while the rest of us are asleep.

As our Senior CAD Tech, Rebecca is an NCIDQ-certified interior designer with more than a decade of experience. She translates design concepts into clear, buildable drawings, ensuring every detail is resolved before construction begins.

Outside of work, she’s balancing life with her little one and finding inspiration in the architecture, culture, and design she experiences across Europe.

Five years ago, Jessica Bremner Design was a team of two working out of a 9×10 guest bedroom.⁠

Today, we're a team of eight, and we've been named a finalist for Western Living's Robert Ledingham Memorial Award for Emerging Interior Designer.⁠

Our submission wasn't based on a single project. It was a body of work—five projects completed between 2023 and 2026 that reflect how we've grown as a studio.⁠
⁠
Looking back at these projects, what stands out isn't just how our work has evolved. It's how much has stayed the same.⁠
⁠
We've always believed homes should feel personal, function beautifully, and support the people who live in them. That philosophy has shaped every project, whether we were designing from a guest bedroom or the studio we're in today.⁠
