I Forgot to post this fall tablescape and realized, Christmas starts in 3 minutes so I better get it up!
My aunt from England was here visiting in sept so naturally we needed to have a nice dinner because well I like to host. Let me rephrase that. I like to host when no one gets in my way or tries to micro manage me 😆. Get over here, zip it and sit down on time when I call you then stuff your face with things I over thought about for two months. those are MY rules haha
I thrive during holiday dinners well cooking them at least. People who like to host and cook will get it, people who don’t want pizza in a couch. You won’t have that here on my holidays 😉
Maybe setting the table goes back to my grandparents. We always had a nice setting and candles lit no matter what day of the week it was. My mother and I bond over such things as setting the table and deciding what to do but her tabelscapes are a little more glorious than mine. She adds sparkle and a bunch of things to know over and it looks fabulous ❤️
Beegie Adair dinner music plays in the background and I feel like we are at a fancy restaurant with the casualties of being at home. It’s glorious, now if I could only find someone to do all the dishes 🤔.
Today’s table scapes are a gathering of many things - the table cloth was my mom’s I borrowed years ago during our first Thanksgiving here when our spread was outside in the background yard. I’m so glad we did that. Fire burning and trees everywhere. It was magical and blew down the following year with the storm. Yard hasn’t been the same since…
So the table cloth made a reappearance with my husbands recommendation of keeping it because I thought it may be too busy. I was wrong, he was right and it was perfect!
We have winners squirrel side dishes, woven place mats - blue and orange from .canada
Dishes are I think??! From years ago and actually part of my Christmas dinner plates. (We will get into how many sets I have later in life 😆)
Gold flatware everyone laughed at me for having at first which is now everywhere is from Amazon
