The Covered Porch
At the rear of The Gable House, the architecture opens toward the backyard through generous glazing and a full-width covered porch. The design creates a sheltered extension of the interior, with space for outdoor dining and lounging overlooking the pool.
Substantial stone columns and clean-lined posts frame the porch, while its strong horizontal roofline balances the taller gabled and hipped forms above. Living space over the porch makes efficient use of the home’s footprint, integrating the outdoor gathering area into the overall architecture.
The stone, stucco and dark detailing carry through from the front façade, giving the home a consistent character from every perspective. Large windows and glazed doors maintain a visual connection between the interior and the outdoor living spaces.
The result is a backyard elevation that brings architectural continuity and everyday function together, creating a comfortable setting for gathering, relaxing and enjoying the outdoors.
