The Knottiest Corner's first post and yes this is exactly what you signed up for 🧶🍺
Hi I'm Jen.
In this video I am simultaneously starting a new blanket, losing my mind mid-project, showing off something I finished, dropping a stitch, running out of yarn, and just absolutely vibing. At the same time. While swearing.
This is every crochet session I have ever had in my entire life.
If you came here expecting a calm, aesthetic crochet girlie who whispers softly about yarn weights — wrong f**king corner babe.
If you came here to watch a loud Canadian woman cuss her way through making the coziest blankets you've ever touched in your life — welcome home.
I make chunky blankets. I make baby blankets. I make whatever the hell I feel like making that day. All by hand. All made in Canada. 🇨🇦 All machine washable because I'm not precious about it and neither should you be.
Custom orders open. Come hang. Bring drinks.

📍Healing does not mean pretending the wound never happened.

It means finally giving yourself what was missing.

For many adult children, healing is not about changing the past.

It is about stopping the search for someone else to rewrite it.

It is learning to listen to yourself when nobody listened.

To comfort yourself when nobody comforted you.

To protect yourself when nobody protected you.

To choose yourself when nobody chose you.

To speak kindly to yourself instead of repeating the criticism you grew up with.

This is what reparenting is.

Not becoming your own parent perfectly.

But becoming the safe place you needed.

The voice that says:

“I believe you.”

“Your feelings matter.”

“You do not have to earn love.”

“You do not have to abandon yourself to keep other people comfortable.”

And perhaps the hardest part of healing is accepting that some people may never become who you needed them to be.

But your healing does not have to wait for them.
You can grieve what you did not receive and still build something beautiful from here.

You can mourn the childhood you deserved and still create a life that feels safe, peaceful, and full of love.

That is not giving up.

That is choosing yourself.

If this resonates, I Didn’t Choose to Be Born explores childhood emotional neglect, family dysfunction, the mother wound, the father wound, and the journey of healing.

And Chasing Love That Hurts explores how those childhood wounds can later show up as limerence, emotional fixation, and falling for emotionally unavailable people.

Both books are available through the link in bio.
