My husband has always been a Detroit Red Wings fan. I wanted to create something special for his birthday and when I found Steve Yzerman’s last step before retirement I knew this would be something he would really love to add to his collection.

This one started with the beauty of these fresh grown hops from the garden of our friend Pamela Fellbaum
I was mesmerized by the beauty of these flowers and right away thought of creating them using my scroll saw. Then this massive sign came to life! What started with a couple of hops turned into a 4’ x 16” sign with over 250+ cut pieces. This is a challenge that I was excited to tackle! I’ve learned so many new skills and so happy with the final result! So many hours spent on designing, cutting, shaping, carving, priming and painting to put my vision to life!

It’s been a while! I’m still here making custom pieces! 😁. I’ve been working on this one for 2 months! Our friends planted hops last year and this year they were in full bloom! They were gorgeous and inspired me to create this piece! Pamela Fellbaum
