Windy Wires

Windy Wires Windy Wires is art inspired by the shores of Georgian Bay. My name is Lisa Milligan, I am 35 years old, born and raised in Parry Sound. "A MUSKOKA TREE!".

I created Windy Wires in july of 2015. Growing up my family always encouraged us kids to be creative. My mom would do random crafts, and when we went to our grandparents house, the first thing my grandmother did was take out all her craft supplies, she loved it, and so did we! Little did they know, that this encouragement would bring both my sister and I into the business of art. My sister chose d

esigning jewelry (Augmented Gem Jewelry is her business name) check her out. I was late getting into designing. I suffer from derealisation caused by a generalized anxiety disorder. When this derealisation happens it is very hard for me to follow patterns. So things like painting, or crocheting are not possible. I was browsing Pinterest one day and saw a framed piece of art that I really liked. So, I picked up some wire and created my own version of this piece. I really enjoyed making the piece but it took far too long for someone with an anxiety disorder. So I found a rock, and decided to do the same tree(a maple style) on the rock. Honestly it looked nothing like I planned, in frustration I grabbed the tree and ran my hand over the top. All the branches now were "blowing" one way, I giggled and thought "now its a tree you would see on Georgian Bay". Then a light bulb went off. Since that moment I have made hundreds. My talent has grown, enabling me to perfect my designs and improve my product selection. In 2018 I added sublimation printing to my offerings, this allows me to take my art to the next level and create a whole "Windy Wires Tree" line of mugs, tea towels, pot holders, etc. which sold very well at Beverlys(she has since closed until she gets her store built from the fire). I also do custom print orders, big and small, including commercial and promotional items. My products are only available through me and my lil home studio, please message me for anything.
