After years of traveling the globe and becoming enthralled with the cultural heritage of textiles, I studied at three different Canadian art schools over five years before getting my BFA in textile design from the Alberta College of Art and Design. In the beautiful Pemberton valley (near Whistler BC), have an awesome family and property that keeps me very busy. Finding time to create and produce is always a challenge but in the end, I have realized it is what really keeps me content and sane in this "crazy" world we all live in :)
My clothes are fun and whimsical, modern and well crafted, inspired by colour, nature, process and material. Each garment is unique with collage-like detailing hand-picked by the designer. Most of my clothes are adjustable to make fitting all body types easy. Frances Felt has been featured in Toronto Life and Ion Magazine, as well as the Georgia Straight and the Vancouver Province.
