Another purchase from the Merrickville Antique Show that took place this past Saturday.

The personal carving tools and handcrafted tool chest of Delbert (Dub) Juby, also known as the Valley Carver. Dub passed away on March 24, 2026.

The eagle carving by Dub was acquired for my collection a few years ago.

One of my favorite purchases from the Merrickville Antique Show that took place this past Saturday.

A WW1 era Prisoner of War (POW) carved tray carved by Sirghi Sofian, a Romanian immigrant who was detained at Spirit Lake along with his wife and three children.

Mr. Sofian's story is a quite interesting one with connections to Canada, US President Roosevelt, and the Canadian War Museum.

One of my favorite purchases from the Merrickville Antique Show that took place this past Saturday.
