A Heartfelt Update About the Future of Farmhouse Primitives 🤎
This is probably one of the hardest posts I’ve ever had to write.
First and most importantly, Farmhouse Primitives is NOT closing. But as we look ahead to next year, the store is going to look a little different.
If you know me, you know that this little store has always been a dream of mine. It has never felt like just a store. I have poured so much of my heart into creating a place where you can walk through the door, forget about everything for a little while, wander around, visit, laugh, be inspired and maybe find something special to take home.
I often hear you say that coming into Farmhouse Primitives is your therapy. What you may not realize is that it has been mine too. 🤎
With so much uncertainty surrounding tariffs and the cost of bringing products into Canada, I have had to make some difficult decisions about what the future will look like. A large part of what makes Farmhouse Primitives special has always been my trips to the States, searching for those unique pieces and constantly bringing you something new.
I have always worked very hard to keep my prices as reasonable as possible. With the possibility of additional tariffs and rising costs, I simply don't feel comfortable continuing to travel and purchase inventory at the same level when I don't know what those costs may ultimately be — especially if it means having to pass significant increases along to you.
For the remainder of this year, nothing changes. We will continue as usual, and I hope you’ll continue to come in, visit and enjoy the store just as you always have.
Next year, Farmhouse Primitives will simply enter a new chapter.
I will be reducing our regular store hours and focusing more on making certain times of the year really special. You can still look forward to events like our Spring Fling, a special Fall Event, and of course our oh-so-popular Christmas Open House — because I couldn’t imagine Farmhouse Primitives without it! 🎄
I’ll also be holding a BIG yard sale to clear out older inventory and make room for this next chapter. There will definitely be some amazing deals and treasures to be found!
I won't pretend this decision has been easy. It truly breaks my heart. This store has been such a huge part of my life and something I have loved building and sharing with all of you. But sometimes we have to adjust, even when our heart wishes things could stay exactly as they are.
What I want you to know more than anything is that Farmhouse Primitives isn't going away. We are simply changing how we do things.
To every person who has walked through my doors, made a purchase, attended an open house, brought a friend, shared a post, stopped in just to chat, or told someone about my little store — thank you. You are the reason this dream became so much more than I ever imagined.
There are still lots of beautiful things to come, lots of laughs to be had and lots more memories to make.
This isn't goodbye. It's simply a new chapter for Farmhouse Primitives. 🤎
And from the bottom of my heart, thank you for continuing to be part of it.
