With Mother’s Day being this weekend, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate all mothers + mother figures. Most of our BD team is made up of incredibly hardworking mothers who somehow manage to balance it all with grace, care, and dedication (like nifty nursing on-site). We truly believe the empathy, resilience, organization, and heart we bring into our families also makes us exceptional at what we do at for our clients. Cheers to all you amazing mothers, bonus mom’s, grandmothers, fur mamas + power female influences - you all deserve the world! 💕

The Friday Five 🤍

Another week has come and gone, and it’s time for a glimpse behind-the-scenes at Birchview Design:

1. Presentation day ✍️ We spent time this week refining and sharing design schematics for an upcoming renovation project - thoughtfully considering how each space will function, flow, and ultimately feel for the family who calls it home. This is another presentation shot from because this project is still top secret 🤫

2. Between client work, we’ve also been making exciting progress behind-the-scenes on the future Birchview Design office + warehouse. It’s incredibly meaningful to shape a space that will support both our team and our growing process for years to come 🤍

3. + 4. Progress continues at Grace Cottage, where beautiful tile work is beginning to bring layers of texture and permanence into the space (+ the drywall zooming along!). There’s something especially rewarding about seeing the vision begin to materialize through craftsmanship and detail 🚧

5. A sneak snipped rendering of our Shoreline Haven project. This new build cottage is rounding out its next phase and we are looking forward to presenting the full design to our wonderful clients ✏️

The Friday Five 🤍

Another week has come and gone, and it’s time for a glimpse behind-the-scenes at Birchview Design:

1. A foggy morning on site this week, with a fox passing through - a gentle reminder of the landscapes we’re privileged to work within. Work continues! 🦊

2 & 3. Between all the hustle + bustle, we’ve been turning our attention inward - firming up the layout plans for our own Birchview Design studio. It’s an exciting process to thoughtfully shape a space that reflects how we work, collaborate, and support our clients ✍️

4. We spent time the amazing one-stop-shop of for a product knowledge session with flooring. Continuing education is a core part of our process - ensuring we’re always bringing informed, considered recommendations forward for our clients. ✏️

5. We were honoured to see our Providence Nouveau ensuite featured in a Houzz editorial this week. It offered a lovely moment to revisit this project and reflect on the layers of detail that made it so special! 💭

Happy long weekend! This shot from our Providence Nouveau project feels like the perfect spring + Easter vibe. The firm will be closed for an extra long weekend, allowing our team to enjoy some well-deserved r&r with family and friends. We’ll be back in the office on Tuesday 💻

Another week has come and gone, and it’s time for a few moments from behind-the-scenes at Birchview Design:

1. Site visits always serve as a reminder to just how exciting this phase can be. Construction at Grace Cottage is moving along beautifully, and we spent some time capturing the rhythm of life on site - collaborating with our incredible trades and documenting the thoughtful additions that continue to elevate the design. It’s where vision meets ex*****on, and it never gets old 🛠️

2. Framing has officially begun on the custom sauna within the gym, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see this unique feature take shape. Designed as a restorative retreat, this space will offer our clients a true sense of escape - an everyday luxury rooted in intentional design ✨

3. Deliveries arriving at our warehouse never fail to spark inspiration, and this week’s standout is a stunning seagull wallpaper that has completely captured our hearts. Playful yet refined, it’s a perfect nod to lakeside living - we’re counting down the days until installation 🕊️

4. Exterior progress at Grace Cottage continues to transform the property. With the previous posts + deck removed, we’re moving toward a newly engineered deck and a thoughtfully designed outdoor kitchen. Every decision is centred around enhancing those breathtaking lakeside views and creating spaces that invite connection outdoors 🌅

5. We loved spending time at the Cottage Life Show this week - connecting with industry peers, discovering new products, and gathering inspiration for the seasons ahead. It’s always energizing to be surrounded by so much creativity, and we’re already looking forward to what the 2026 cottage season will bring 🏡

This was our 3rd year sponsoring the Art Gallery of Peterborough’s Kawartha Autumn Studio Tour, and I had a wonderful time touring around to visit some of the incredible artists, and having the opportunity to see some behind-the-scenes of their processes. Connecting with talented artists, scoping out potential commissions for clients, and enjoying the beautiful fall weather - a winning weekend! Thank you to everyone that contributed to this wonderful event (which has been going since 1984 👏) - cheers to another successful year!

The Friday Five 🤍

Another week has come and gone and it’s time for a few behind-the-scenes moments from our firm:

1.+ 2. This week had lots of final Grace Cottage design presentation prep (which is happening as we speak 🙌 ). Fabric cards created, technical drawings and visual specifications printed and a whole ‘lotta anticipation excitement. 🎉

3. + 4. A sneak peak of today’s presentation 👀. Having the opportunity to walk our clients through the visual journey of what their space will look like is such an honour. Our presentation process has been created to be extremely tactile as well as visual, and it makes for such a fun day. This particular presentation was literally almost 100 pages long, so it’s a big day of reviewing thousands of decisions. It’s our job to weave each of those thousands of decisions into a cohesive, actionable plan - so our clients just get to sit back and enjoy seeing their vision come to life. 🤩

5. I had a chance to grab the latest .country.magazine 📖, and I was blown away at all the amazing stories in this edition. We have so much local talent here in The Kawarthas! In this edition, we had an article about what to consider when working with a design firm. It was fortuitous that the article following ours was all about RenoMark (which our firm is proud to be), and the importance of this status when considering a renovation company. 🏡

4. A snippet from our article, highlighting our symbiotic relationship with so many wonderful artists. Curated art in a space is such a big piece of the puzzle to ensuring a house feels like a home 🖼️

5. It was a lovely long weekend spent on the water. Trying to savour up every last second of summer! 🌅
