I think I'm calling it a night early.

I'm exhausted, and it's not even 9:30 yet! 😅

It was a full day of canning, and while I'm definitely feeling it, I'm also feeling incredibly grateful. There's something so rewarding about putting food away for the months ahead and seeing all that hard work sitting on the shelf.

Now it's time to get some much-needed rest because tomorrow is another busy day.

I hope you all have a peaceful evening, sleep well, and wake up refreshed for a brand-new week.

Started at 11 AM and I have been at it ALL damn day 😂

Soaked the beets, washed them, cooked them, cooled them, stripped and peeled them, cut them up, made the brine, boiled them, packed the jars, water bathed them, cooled them… and cleaned my kitchen about 500 times in between. 😂

And because apparently that wasn't enough, I was also cutting up all my peppers into strips, bagging them, labeling them and getting them into the freezer for winter.

10 litres of shelf-stable pickled beets + 2 containers for the fridge because you KNOW I'm eating those bad boys right away. 😂❤️

Last batch is done at 5:17 PM and then I am DONE.

Tomorrow?

☀️ Good morning and Happy Sunday! ❤️

Today's canning session has officially begun! 🫙❤️

I've got my beets soaking in cold water right now to help loosen up all the mud before I give them a good scrub. It's amazing how much work goes into preserving food, but I honestly love every part of the process.

I'm just waiting for more pickling spice to be delivered because I ran out yesterday. 😅 Once that gets here, it's full steam ahead on canning beets!

The weather couldn't be better for it either. It's cool, rainy, and feels like fall is slowly making its way in. Perfect weather to spend the day in the kitchen.

I'll also be spending some time catching up with everyone on Facebook while I wait. Life has been keeping me busy lately, so if I've been a little quieter than usual, thank you for your patience and understanding.

Started my pickles at 5 tonight and finally just took my last batch out! 🥒
12 litres of homemade garlic dill pickles! Took me about five hours from start to finish, and now I'm just sitting here listening to the jars pop as they seal.
I swear, that little POP is the best sound ever. 😂❤️
Pretty damn proud of myself tonight.

🌿 I'm finally home! ❤️

What a day!

We left the house at 8:00 this morning and didn't get home until after 3:00 this afternoon. That's a long day of sitting in line, but I'm so grateful to my sister for taking me. ❤️

Even though I missed out on the peaches—they sold out just before we got there—I still came home with an amazing haul!

🌶️ Peppers
🥔 Potatoes
🥬 Celery
🫙 Beets

When I looked at everything sitting on my counter, I realized... I have a few days of work ahead of me! 😅

I'm a little disappointed about missing the peaches because I was really looking forward to canning them, but they'll be back, and there's always next time.

For now, it's time to roll up my sleeves and start washing, chopping, pickling, and preserving!

🌙 One last peek before bed... ❤️

Here's a little sneak peek of the lanyard I'm working on tonight! 🪶

My goal this week was to finish six lanyards by Friday, but, as we all know, life has a way of changing our plans. ❤️

Even so, I'm happy with how things are going. I've already finished two, and they both sold! I'm so grateful for everyone who continues to support my beadwork.

This is number three, and I've been working on it for about an hour. I'm hoping to make some good progress tonight because tomorrow my focus shifts to something completely different...

Canning season begins! 🥒🍑🫙

I'm picking up my produce first thing in the morning, and I can't wait to start making pickles, beets, and peaches with my son. It's going to be a busy but wonderful day.

I'll probably be spending a few hours waiting in line to pick everything up, so you'll likely see me around Facebook tomorrow catching up and visiting everyone's pages. 😊
