Sold a few things today and Finnegan came along to help with sales. He was very popular! What am I saying of course he was. He slept allllll afternoon until well after supper time. Twas a good day. ❤️🥰🙌🏻🙏🏻

Victoria Day weekend = the market is officially back outside! The market is in full summer mode, which means more vendors, more space, and more excuses to wander around. Live music by Drew Polegato will be filling the air so you can shop with those amazing vibes you love. The petting zoo is back too, because nothing says summer market like making eye contact with a donkey while you purchase your groceries 🫏🫜

Loaded the kiln this evening with a few bottles as well as some cut bottles that I’m hoping will turn or melt into tea light candle holders. It’s always a lottery with these but when they turn out they’re organic looking and very neat! The indent in the bottom of a wine bottle is called a punt, and functions for stability, sediment management and in the case of sparkling wine, withstanding pressure of the bubbles! These bottles all had deep punts so when they melt should create a nice natural indent for the candle. Fingers, toes and eyes 👀 crossed! 🤞🏻 I’ll keep you posted!

A lil sneak of some candle holders and a nice chunky live edge maple board I’m making and finishing. I do love quotes and I think these are quite fitting for the items I’ve engraved them on. What do you think of the leaves motif on the other one? I’m getting things ready as I’ll be heading to markets again soon. More details to follow!

Do you want to buy a barn…beam candle holder? This salvaged barn beam candle holder was rescued from a fallen century + barn in Port Howe Nova Scotia by yours truly. Cut and sanded and then stained a bleached driftwood grey colour, I added these metal legs (removable) to give it height and allow other things to be placed underneath if desired. Comes with 5 black ceramic tea light candle cups and candles. One of a kind piece for your table or mantle. $75.

Raised neck slumped wine 🍷 bottle with an S monogram embossed on the glass. This was a Chǎteauneuf-du-pape bottle, wish I could remember the name, but these wines from the Rhone are some of my favourites ❤️🙌🏻 so the bottle will likely come through my house again lol. I like using these bottles for small snack 🧀 trays and as you can see in the pictures here they make an awesome and upscale spoon 🥄 rest. $25 and comes with two wine cork cheese knives attached to the neck of the bottle with ribbon.

A little departure from wine barrel creations, this barn support beam came from a fallen century barn in Port Howe before being cut into sections by me and sanded (a little! Want to keep that rustic look!) and then routing out three large votive candle cups, and these green glass beauties are included. Measures 28 inches long by 5 inches wide and 4 inches high. Finished with a h**p oil finish to enhance the markings, worm holes and grain and has bumper feet for mark free display on your table or mantle. $95 and available for pick up in Malagash or can meet in Tatamagouche. This wine barrel oak stave candle holder used to hold Nova Scotia wine but now is living its next life as a beautiful home decor item. Length is around 36 inches long and looks nice on a dining table with the ambience from the lights. This bent neck bottle has a lovely monogrammed ‘S’ on it, and the bent neck provides a handle for use as a serving tray or even a spoon rest.
