🇮🇹🎨 When the colour you sell actually belongs in the city…
Tawnya is in Firenze (Florence!) and, naturally, there’s paint colour spotting happening. 😂
And we have to say… Benjamin Moore AF-225 Firenze really understood the assignment. 👏🏼
From the warm terracotta Duomo, to the endless terracotta tile rooftops, to the gorgeous geometric floors inside Palazzo Pitti—this city is basically a walking colour palette of warm, earthy terracotta.
So of course, we had to bring the swatch along. 🎨📸
AF-225 Firenze: apparently not just a paint colour… it’s a whole Italian experience. 🇮🇹🧡

Congratulations to our incredible store manager Tawnya Chiasson Doucette on putting up with all of our shinnanigans for the past 5 years!

What was supposed to be a little two-shift-a-week job somehow turned into a full-time adventure leading the team on the ground and facilitating our continued growth 🌟

Five years in, Tawnya continues to love (almost) every minute of it 😜 — especially the people who walk through our doors.

🎨 MEET THE EXPERTS: AVA — SUMMER STUDENT & SATURDAY PAINT EXPERT 🎨
Next up in our Meet the Experts series is Ava!
Ava is one of the newest members of our team, joining us in May she’s not exactly new to the store though. 😉
In fact, Ava has had a bit of an unfair advantage from the beginning…
😂 She’s a nepo baby.
Yep. Ava is Tawnya’s daughter, though Ava is quickly proving she can hold her own. She’s learning the products, getting comfortable helping customers, and becoming one of our Saturday paint experts.
🎭 Outside of the store:
Ava is involved in theatre tech, which makes her especially familiar with the magic that happens behind the scenes. And did you know Benjamin Moore supports theatre groups by donating paint for stage productions? 🎭🎨
So it’s safe to say she’s pretty familiar with the idea that paint can completely transform a space.
And then there’s her other great love…
🎶 ABBA.
If you happen to stop by the store on a Saturday when Ava is working, there’s a very good chance you’ll be greeted by some classic ABBA playing in the background. 💃🕺

😂 Sometimes the intrusive thoughts win.
When you work at a paint store and there’s a paint spill… most people grab a mop.
Us? “Wait… this could actually be kind of fun.” 🎨😂
Luckily, one of our contractors was there to encourage the chaos. ✌️ Peace out!

One of the things I’m most proud of being an entrepreneur and small business owner is the ability to create jobs. Some of these jobs have helped folks sustain themselves and provide for their families. Other jobs, student employment, have helped young people enter the workforce for the first time, learn new skills, build their confidence and prepare for bigger and better things.
This is Camryn Prosser Camryn is the 7th young woman we’ve hired since 2012. She is extremely bright with an infectious smile and overall radiant disposition. Although Camryn was accepted into the prestigious engineering program at St. Francis Xavier, she has decided she’d like to gain some more real life and work experience before pursing her academic career. I see my role as mentor for Camryn as an obligation to help her flourish and become the best possible version of herself. Although she is currently still working for us and we would love to keep her I know that’s not what’s best for her. If you think you have an opportunity for Camryn please reach out (part-time would be great! I’m willing to share her ❤️).
