Today, we pause to remember those who fought for our country, and to thank those who are still fighting for our country today.

In doing so, we also remember Ned and Val Fisher.

Ned and Val met during wartime in England, when Ned was in the Canadian Army and Val was a Wren in the Royal Canadian Women's Naval Service. Once they returned from WWII, Ned and Val settled in Sackville to raise their 3 children. Their wartime service remained an important and significant part of both of their lives.

Compact Appliances was formed in 1983 by Ned, Val, and their son Malcolm Fisher. Val made the initial financial contribution to the company which helped Ned and Malcolm get Compact off the ground.

Remembering the lessons and ethics taught to us by the generations which came before us, Compact continues to grow by investing in the roots of our team, our partners, and our dealers. We reach out a little more often, we say thank you a whole lot more, and we always keep our promises. It's just who we are - it comes from our roots.

Proud of where we come from and inspired by the road ahead, we keep investing in our roots and yours as our true business partners in the business of comfort.
