Work in progress, a Peterson Type D inspired axe. Wrought iron body with 5160 bit forge welded in. Can’t wait to get it cleaned up and in the etch to see what patterns the wrought iron with have. This is what I love about working with wrought iron, you never know what beauty awaits until it’s out the etc.

This was a custom order for an Edmonton Police K9 handler whose dog just retired. Axe is inspired by the Peterson type K axe. Forged from a single piece 1045. The artwork on the handle is inspired by Urnes style art, has by the dog’s name and a personal message from the handler’s girlfriend in Anglo Saxon Futhorc.
