Custard Pie Delight
It’s that time of the year again! Whether you're looking to impress at a holiday party or simply want to treat yourself, this Custard Pie recipe is the perfect go-to dessert! Creamy, dreamy, and utterly delicious!:
Ingredients:
- 1 pie crust
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- A pinch of salt
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Roll out your pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie dish. Trim any excess and crimp the edges.
3. In a medium saucepan, combine milk and heavy cream. Heat over medium heat until bubbles form around the edges (do not boil). Remove from heat.
4. In a bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, nutmeg, and salt.
5. Slowly pour the warm milk mixture into the egg mixture, whisking constantly to avoid curdling.
6. Pour the mixture into the prepared pie crust.
7. Bake in preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the center is set but still slightly jiggly.
8. Allow the pie to cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
