So this is what scares me the most about design. The ex*****on of my ideas. I know how and why I got to this phase in the process and I can talk your head off about that. But now there are many moving parts that I don’t control and sometimes the tools or skills we have for communicating those ideas are complicated and get ‘lost in translation’, So here we go, construction starting any day now. It’s exciting and terrifying all at once. I’ll keep you posted.

I helped a client hang some artwork recently. She had a number of still life paintings. Got me in the mood to get back to my roots.

Thank you and .mcclintick for letting me reimagine the reception area of her salon. This was fun. And as a side note this building was a grocery store when I was a little girl in the 70’s. This might have been the produce section:)

Clients like to see how the room will come together. I love working this way. As a person who trained in the visual arts I feel very strongly that my design brain only works when I’m drawing space. Digital tools are great and I use very sophisticated drafting tools to help layout spaces to ensure everything goes together properly. But the magic happens when I have my pencil in my hand.
