Upgrade alert!

the Sketching tin now contains…
A 2B grade graphite/carbon combo pencil. All the shading capabilities of a graphite pencil but with a punchy matte, black colour that will not reflect light. This is especially useful when photographing your sketches.

A wooden pencil extender with a metal collar - so you can make the most of every pencil.

A putty eraser to correct & highlight your pencil marks. Knead eraser to clean or reshape it.

A sketchbook with 16 pages of 200gsm/95lbs, hot press, acid free, 100% cotton paper. This pocket sized book measures 9cm x 7cm (3 1/2” x 2 3/4”) (closest to A7).

A very warm welcome to the second month of the year which will be home to our seconds sale! Link in bio 🔗

All through February we will be offering our Sketching Tin (original edition) at the special price of $30 CAD.

These seconds will have minor cosmetic defects that don’t diminish their extreme creative abilities at all. This will also be your last opportunity to get the original layout of the tin so grab them while you can! After February we’ll only stock a new improved version of the Sketching tin. Our pencils have evolved!
We’re changing the pencils in our Sketching Tins to a 2B graphite/carbon blend (used on the left side of the orca) which has a lot more depth capabilities as well as being super matte in comparison to the standard 2B graphite (see the right of the orca).

That’s not all that’s changing so keep those eyes peeled for more updates!

We’re having a rejig here at Joan of Art hq. Some products will be upgraded with prices going up accordingly and some sets of 2nds will be prepared and offered at a reduced price. We’ve also got some brand new colourways on the horizon too!

In order to facilitate these changes we are pausing the postage of our art materials for the remainder of September. All orders we receive between now and the end of the month will be dispatched from the beginning of October in the order they were received.

We’re sorry if this disrupts your sketching. To thank anyone who orders in September for their patience, we’re including an automatic discount at checkout. 10% will be taken off all products ordered until October 1st.

Our new travel sized sketchbooks are available from our online store! ✍️
This pocket sized sketchbook is just 9cm x 7cm (3 1/2” x 2 3/4”) (closest to A7).

Made from 16 pages of acid free, 100% cotton paper.

The 200gsm/95lbs hot press paper is robust with a smooth surface. This allows for a clarity of line, richness of detail and strong, even tones.

Strong and thick - perfect for watercolour paints as well as pencil, pen and many other media. Each page can be used on both sides.
