An elevated and stylish home that maintains a tangible warmth and livability — that was the intention behind every aesthetic detail, finish, and fixture thoughtfully considered and curated for our Haute at Home project... But what polished photos don’t show, is that before any material or fixture was considered, first came the reconfiguration of each floor, shifting and relocating whole rooms across the floor plan to flow and function better for our client’s busy family.

The first look at Trio Creek! How it all started ⤵️

When our clients approached us with their hopes to renovate, they expressed that they wanted to fall in love with their home again. They’d built it for their family in the early 2000’s and it served their family well for many years, but it was time for a change. They wanted to update it to reflect their own personal style, rather than the builder options they had to select from when the home was originally built. Through our detailed consultation process, we dove into what their style really was, and landed on a mix of Mid-century, Scandinavian, and ‘Japandi’ inspired design.

They had previously installed a manufactured stone veneer feature wall that wrapped around the kitchen nook and living room walls, and wanted to keep that feature intact, so we started there! Our goal was to address every function they felt their kitchen, bathroom, laundry, and storage spaces were previously lacking, and to pull all that added functionality into a cohesive style that reflected a combination of their favourite interior styles. From refinishing their existing solid maple hardwood, to ditching the corner pantry, creating a dedicated (and hidden) coffee & breakfast station, among so much more, their home was truly transformed.

As always, it couldn’t happen without the best contractor and team of trades & suppliers, who all used their talent and expertise to do their part in making our clients dream, a reality.

From the moment you step into the foyer at our ‘Haute at Home’ project, the tone for the entire interior is set. It’s sculptural, contemporary meets classic, with a hint of playfulness. ✨ A longggg way from where it all started (swipe all the way through to see where the journey for this complete home renovation began.) These are the type of renovations that light us up, the ‘forever homes’, the ones that allow us to dive deep into creating a wholistic transformation that truly reflects our clients.

The unseen angles of our Clover House project. ✨
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This kitchen was a dream to create. A few sneaky storage details made all the difference for this space. We tucked storage in every nook and cranny we could, including below the sleek curved banquette bench. We recessed the fridge into the dining space where there was unused floor space to create a furniture-like effect with the hidden fridge in the kitchen. This solution allowed for an amazing amount of uninterrupted counter space to spread out when cooking together.

Everything about the laundry space at our Lake House project is unconventional and we love how it fits so perfectly into both the functional use and the aesthetic of the home. Rather than dedicating square footage to a designated laundry room, the washer and dryer were tucked into a closet in the main level hallway, in close proximity to all of the bedrooms and main bathrooms. This was a clever solution by the team when they developed the floor plans for the home in order to maintain a generously sized walk-in closet in the primary bedroom which was a priority to the clients. Then, once we dug into the interior design scope, we amped it up a notch by suggesting the following:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Floating cabinets to accommodate laundry baskets to slide below the counter between loads, with a continuous floor tile finish below (rather than having baskets sitting in open shelves within millwork.) This addressed the fact that there will inevitably be more sand tracked into the house from the lake.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. A hanging rod above the counter for hang to dry items, shorter for bathing suits above the washer & dryer, and longer over the sink portion for shirts, etc. With custom storage above at an accessible height that didn’t interfere with the door header in front
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Quartz countertop above the washer & dryer that waterfalls down to meet the main sink countertop, in order to protect the millwork from any extra moisture (such as lake towels and wet bathing suits.)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. And last but not least, an automated commercial roller-style overhead door in a titanium finish that compliments the architectural metalwork on the exterior of the home, and acts as a nod to our client’s enthusiasm for cars.

A timeless light & airy palette with a touch of whimsy for the kids bath at our Ravine Dream project. 💫 Fitting for elementary-aged kids now, while also practical and polished to suit them well into their teen years…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A few of our favourite subtle details are the playful floor tile pattern, and the connection between the shape of the mirrors with the same soft-curvature in the sconces, faucets, and cabinet hardware.

When considering the materials and details for the fireplace at our Ravine Dream project, we knew that keeping it simple by bringing in the same limestone used on the exterior of the house, was the right choice for the classic prairie architecture of the home. Flanked by beautiful windows on either side, and paired with a beautiful reclaimed mantel to coordinate with the prominent wood posts and beams throughout the main floor, the natural textures of the limestone and reclaimed wood fit in seamlessly.

When it came to the ensuite at our Medley House project, the goal was to increase functionality by adding a second sink and more countertop space, and to accommodate a steam shower large enough to lay down in, while honouring the modern 70’s architecture and flair of the house. Cue the new walnut vanity, warm palette, textural tiles, and a hint of glam.
