Spring greens (& yellows) fleece dye with friends taught by the lovely 🌟

This was my second time playing around with natural dyes and I learned so much! What better way to spend a Saturday than outside in great company playing chemist with wool and plants.

🐑 fleece deets: Barnston Island Wool - Rosemary (gray fleece) & Peasblossom (white fleece)

🌿 plant dye deets: tansy & goldenrod leaves and stems, which both made gorgeous yellow colours! We tested out adding iron to some bits of the fleece for more of a green hue.

Excited to be part of this! 💗🐑🌿

Grad dress update video is on its way soon! School’s been kicking my butt these days… For now, here’s the mini update: waist & hip shaping is complete and fits pretty dang good! Pleats of the skirt are making some headway and the M1R/M1L increases are sooo dreamy to see work up.

Some things I knit in 2022 ✨

I can’t show everything because I did knit a lot of gifts in 2022, but this year I plan to knit a lot more for myself 🤭

Some of my goals for 2023 knitting is to knit with new kinds of fibres, support more smaller/lesser known designers (would love some recommendations!), and knit many more accessories using up stash. I don’t necessarily have a set number of projects I would like to knit or specific amount of yarn I would like to use because I feel like that would put too much pressure on me and my creative process. Like .bymandy alway says, “we👏are👏not👏being👏stressed👏about👏our👏hobbies👏”

Knitting my graduation dress! It may not be perfect, but I am having so much fun watching it come together.

Would you have ripped back to fix the back stitches?

One month down, four more to go!

This is probably the most fun I’ve had knitting in awhile. It’s like a puzzle and the more problem solving I do, the more exhilarated I feel!

Quick update on the dress I’m designing & knitting for my graduation:

I split for sleeves a few nights ago and then had to rip back because the armhole depth wasn’t deep enough. I’m adding a few more rows to the yoke before I split again. Lifelines will save me during this project!!

I hope to make some good progress on the bust when I update you all next 🤞🏼

A rambly knitter who’s attempting to design her graduation dress!

Stick around to see how it comes together 🌟
