I was invited to Carlsbad last week for the inaugural DesignPoint, hosted in collaboration with the NKBA and it turned out to be such a memorable few days.

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but it was better than I could have imagined. I left feeling inspired, educated, and grateful to be part of such an incredible community of industry professionals.

It was a great opportunity to connect directly with brands, learn more about their products and services, and have thoughtful conversations with people from across the industry.

Beyond the education and networking, I of course made time to take in the scenery and play tourist while I was there.

Looking forward to seeing how DesignPoint continues to grow!

The Saltwood Project is here.

We’ve been waiting to share this one, and I’m so excited to finally give you a first look.

Warm woods, beautiful natural stone, soft textures and so many of the little details I love. There’s lots more to come, but for now, welcome to the Saltwood Project.

You know that feeling when you're wandering through a little antique shop with absolutely nowhere to be? That might actually be my version of therapy.

No shopping list. No deadline. Just slowly wandering around, finding the weird little treasures nobody else seems to notice.

An old desk with incredible patina. Stacked vintage suitcases. Timeworn terracotta pots. A marble tabletop that's softened around the edges after decades of use.

Half the fun isn't even buying something. It's training your eye to notice what makes a piece special. And trust me... once you start seeing those details, you can't unsee them.

I don't know about you, but August always feels a little bittersweet to me. It's still summer, but you can feel the seasons starting to shift.

The farmers' markets are overflowing. Hydrangeas are at their fullest. Somehow your morning coffee tastes even better outside. It just feels like the month to slow down and soak up the last of the unhurried days.

Maybe that's why I've been so drawn to these soft blues, handmade tiles, vintage details, and all of those little imperfect pieces. They have that same feeling. They make you want to slow down a little.

Anyone else wish August could last just a little longer?

One thing I've learned over the years in helping people create homes they enjoy is that they're looking for someone they trust to guide them through the whole process.

There are just so many decisions when you're building a home or renovating one. Everything connects to something else, and it helps to have someone who's always thinking a few steps ahead and keeping the bigger picture in mind.

That's really how I see our role. Helping people make decisions they feel good about, so by the end they have a home that feels personal, works beautifully for the way their family lives, and still feels right years from now.

If you're starting to think about a renovation, building a new home, or simply want to explore what's possible, I would love to chat. Get in touch via the link in bio.

Tiny renovation confession: If I walk into a renovated century home and it feels like a brand new spec house, my designer heart dies a bit.

Simply because old homes have already done the hard part. They've spent decades building character, so why throw that away?

The kitchen in our Turner Project was such a fun reminder of that. They wanted better function, not a different personality. So Kiaya and I focused on improving the flow first. Then every finish had to earn its place. Natural stone because it'll still be beautiful decades from now. Aged brass that gets better with time. Maple cabinetry, and a farmhouse sink because some things always make sense.

If someone walks in and can't tell exactly when your kitchen was renovated? I think we did our job.

I have a tiny obsession with stair runners, and no, it’s not just because they look nice.

There’s something about the feeling of a soft runner under your feet that instantly makes a home feel warmer. It’s one of those little details that changes how a space feels every single day.

(And if you’ve ever run down slippery stairs in socks, you already know they’re practical too.)
