Another Love Local winner to celebrate 🎉 Congratulations to Urban Market 1919 in St. John’s, who has been awarded our third Love Local certificate, a well-deserved recognition for championing local in a big way 👏

For the past 6 years, Urban Market has created a space where hundreds of local producers, makers, and bakers can showcase their products, making it easier than ever for the community to shop and support local all in one place. From handcrafted goods to fresh local food (and even beautiful blooms from Teresa James Floral next door 💐), it’s clear why they were nominated

Check them out here: https://www.urbanmarket1919.com/

A big thank you to Krista, our St. John's Patient Care Coordinator, for presenting the award to owner Ivy Hanley, and to businesses like this that continue to put local first 💛

It’s been a little quieter here lately, and I wanted to share why 🤍

This season of life has been full in the best (and busiest) ways - welcoming a new baby, focusing on motherhood, all while working towards my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology.

I’ll be honest, I’ve felt a little nervous to share this here because I'm not sure it's the place to.... but this space has meant so much to me, and I’ve connected with so many incredible people along the way so I wanted to share this next chapter with you too.

I’ve been building something close to my heart. Creating a new space focused on wellness, self-discovery, and growth. Rooted in the same themes that have inspired my art, Gentle Rising is a space to share tips and
information. Inspired by experience and interest, everything is backed by research and best practice.

If you’d like to follow along or support this next chapter, you can find me at .rising.nl I'd be so happy for you to check it out 💛💛

Thank you for being here through all the seasons. This little art business gave me the support and confidence to step out of my comfort zone so many times, and helped shape my future so I can continue to become the best version of my true authentic self, living a life that truly supports my values.

While I stopped taking website orders for sometime now, I'm still here filling wholesale orders (most recently to Urban Market), while quietly creating this next chapter of life - and Liz Smith Art will always be a part of it. 🩷

So please, check out .rising.nl 🌿❤️❤️

I’ve been a little quiet around here lately - between going back to school last fall and welcoming our second baby in June , there hasn’t been much extra time for creating. I wasn’t planning on doing any markets while on maternity leave, but I find myself missing them!

So I've been squeezing in some burning during nap times, and I’m excited to have some fresh pieces ready for one (maybe even two!) markets this fall. I've been playing around with some watercolors as you can see here! Can’t wait to share more of what I’ve been working on! 💛

Oh, and also, there will be some stock clear-out deals at the market, too! Details to follow soon.
